Thoroughbred Breeders New South Wales Ltd (TBNSW) is a membership organisation formed to promote and advance the interests of the NSW Thoroughbred and its breeders.

TBNSW is a not for profit organisation.

A national organisation, The Bloodhorse Breeders' Association, was first founded in New South Wales in 1921 to represent Thoroughbred breeders throughout Australia.

In 1949 a national organisation and state authorities were formed and today each State and the Northern Territory has its own Association.

The NSW Bloodhorse Breeders' Association Ltd became incorporated in 1987 and in November 1998 the Association changed its name to Thoroughbred Breeders N.S.W. Ltd.

TBNSW is recognised as the official authorized representative of the Thoroughbred breeding industry in New South Wales by Australian and State Governments, Race Clubs, the Australian Stud Book, Veterinary Associations, the Australian Horse Council, Universities and many other organisations with whom the Association works to promote the NSW Thoroughbred.

The Association is representative of breeders in Governmental issues relating to the industry and provides accurate and authoritative advice and information to members and to the general public on any aspect of the Thoroughbred breeding industry.

It is funded through membership subscriptions and an annual allocation of funds from the federal Association, Thoroughbred Breeders Australia, which collects a national sales levy of 0.35% on Australian Thoroughbred auction sales. Funds collected from this levy are then used to assist in the funding of TBA State branches and Aushorse Marketing Pty Ltd.

TBNSW has an elected Committee of nine who meets at least four times a year and conducts an Annual General Meeting each November.

Applications for membership of the Association are welcomed from anyone interested in the Thoroughbred.
