TBNSW promotes and advances the interests of the thoroughbred and its breeders. 

It is a representative body for breeders and fosters a unified approach by breeders in promoting the industry and Australian-bred horses both locally and internationally.

The TBNSW is representative of breeders in Governmental issues relating to the industry and provides accurate and authoritative advice and information to members and to the general public on any aspect of the thoroughbred industry. 

The Association is the organisation of breeders which is officially recognised by Australian and State Governments, Race Clubs, the Australian Stud Book, Veterinary Associations, the Australian Horse Council, Universities and many other state, national and international organisations with whom the Association works to promote the industry.

Applications for membership of the Association are welcomed from anyone interested in the thoroughbred.
