There is no stopping TBNSW members. In yet another great weekend of racing, TBNSW members recorded one Group 1 winner (Pillaging), two Group 2 winners (Victory Vein and Planchet) and two Listed Race winners (Suit and Defier).
In Sydney 16.03.02The venue was Rosehill for black type racing in Sydney on Saturday with the highlights being the Group 1 Darley Stakes and the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas. It was a great day for TBNSW members who recorded 3 winners (including two Group 2 winners and a Listed Race winner), 4 second placings and 3 third placings.
TBNSW members were off to a flying start with the winner and a third placing in Race 1 the Group 2 Magic Night Stakes for two-year-old fillies. Victory Vein (Mr Henrysee(USA)-Protective) bred by Meringo Stud Farm was successful from Calaway Gal (Clang-Calais Royale) with Stratica (Strategic-Oak Beach(NZ)) bred by Mr P R Stewart & Ms B E Woodford-Smith in third place.
A quinella for TBNSW members in Race 2 the Group 2 Pago Pago Stakes for two-year-old colts and geldings. Planchet (Canny Lad-Penny) bred by Woodlands Stud scored narrowly from Choisir (Danehill Dancer(IRE)-Great Selection) bred by Mr R M Daisley with Strictly Smart (Strictly Ballroom-Agent Smart) in third position.
Race 3 on the program was the Hyland Sportswear Stakes a Listed Race for three-year-olds over 1300 metres. The consistent Jai’s Jump (Rory’s Jester-Soda Watch) scored from The Big Chill(NZ)(O’Reilly(NZ)-Ice Calm(NZ)) with Britt’s Best (NZ)(Danehill(USA)-Bal Des Sirenes(IRE)) third.
The Group 3 N E Manion Cup was Race 4 on the program was won by Manner Hill (Danehill(USA)-Mannersim) from Plea(NZ)(Pompeii Court(USA)-Native Hawk(NZ)) with Rapida(NZ)(Senor Pete(USA)-Calon Segur(NZ)) in third place.
It was a second placing for TBNSW members in Race 5 the Sky High Stakes a listed race over 1900 metres when Restless (Thunder Gulch(USA)-Let’s Hurry) saluted from Grampians (Danehill(USA)-Balmoral) bred by Woodlands Stud with Spirit of Westbury(NZ)(Sir Tristram(IRE)-Lucky Witch) third.
One of the highlights on the program was Race 6 the Group 1 Darley Stakes in which TBNSW members recorded second and third placings. Lord Essex (Scenic(IRE)-Darling Bess) was successful from the gallant Shogun Lodge (Grand Lodge(USA)-Pride of Tahnee) bred by Mr I and Mrs A Millard with Crawl (Dr Grace(NZ)-Traipse) bred by Woodlands Stud in third place.
The other highlight of the meeting was Race 7 the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas run over 2000 metres for three-year-olds. Carnegie Express(NZ)(Carnegie(IRE)-Honeymoon Express) won from Don Eduardo(NZ)(Zabeel(NZ)-Diamond Lover) with Pentastic (Pentire(GB)-Miss Minden) third.
It was back to the winner’s circle and a trifecta for TBNSW members in Race 8 the William Inglis Stakes a Listed Race over 1400 metres. Defier (Dehere(USA)-Lilande) bred by Bhima Pty Limited scored from Salgado (Danewin-Slight Chance) bred by Hobartville Stud with Hire (Canny Lad-Charter) bred by Woodlands Stud in third position.
In Sydney 17.03.02 Warwick Farm was the venue for Sunday racing in Sydney with the T L Baillieu Handicap a listed race for two-year-olds the highlight on the program. TBNSW members recorded 1 winner, 6 second placings and 3 third placings on the day.
TBNSW members opened their account with a second placing in Race 1 the Fred Archer Handicap when Breaking News (Brief Truce(USA)-Clear Apollo) won from Damowin (Danehill(USA)-Orwhina) bred by Bhima Pty Limited with Miss Anna Louise (Brocco(USA)-Sally Klaire) third.
It was second and third placings for TBNSW members in Race 2 the Walter Swinburn Handicap. Rinehart (Hurricane Sky-Gina) was successful from Pentathlon (Octagonal(NZ)-Triumphal) bred by Woodlands Stud with Secret Goldmine (Secret Savings(USA)-Hud Hud) bred by Emirates Park Pty Limited in third position.

Redwood Falls (Woodman(USA)-Only A Lady) won from Salameh (Secret Savings(USA)-Show Dancing) bred by Emirates Park Pty Limited with Huit (Octagonal(NZ)-Seika) bred by Woodlands Stud in third place.
A third placing for TBNSW members in Race 4 the Tod Sloan Handicap when Centa’s Gift(NZ)(Centaine-Clarehaven(NZ)) scored from Mr Attorney (Mister C(USA)-Olney(GB)) with Zillion (Geiger Counter(USA)-Giselle) bred by Mr J D Beston in third position.
TBNSW members were back in the winner’s circle in Race 5 the Steve Donoghue Handicap when Factional saluted. Factional (Octagonal(NZ)-Partisan) bred by Woodlands Stud was too good for Onyz (Sri Pekan(USA)-Black Jewel) with Whole Lotta Rosie(NZ)(Bigstone(IRE)-Stone Rose(NZ)) third.
A second placing for TBNSW members in Race 6 the Beau Zam Handicap when Paris Success (Paris Prince(USA)-Neon Dancer) won from Time Signal (Snaadee(USA)-Pribor(USA)) bred by Emirates Park Pty Limited with Raffute (Naturalism(NZ)-Raffett) in third place.
It was a second placing again for TBNSW members in Race 7 the Gordon Richards Welter Handicap. Terrible Taurus (Imposing Bull-Pretty Emma) scored most impressively from Raminco (Shalford(IRE)-Carbon Quote) bred by Miss A O Raymond with Sircarn Damon(NZ)(Carnegie(IRE)-One Magic Moment(IRE) third.
TBNSW members finished the day with a second placing in Race 8 the Douglas Smith Handicap when Twilight Rose (Night Shift(USA)-Rose of Marizza(NZ)) won from Clothilde (Danehill(USA)-Seika) bred by Woodlands Stud with Ritual (St Covet-Starshine(FR)) in third position.

TBNSW members opened their account with a third placing in Race 2 the Seppelt Great Western 2000. Montaigne Way(NZ(Zabeel(NZ)-Gay Antoinette) won from Eagle Rhythm(NZ(Rhythm(USA)-Our Tristalight) with Mr Prudent (Phizam(NZ)-I’m In Business) bred by Dr J D Woolridge in third position.
A second placing for TBNSW members in Race 3 the Pura Light Start Sprint when River Dove (Hurricane Sky-Ride the Rapids) scored from La Lagune (Danehill(USA)-Commercial Choice(USA)) bred by Mr S F Johnson with Easy Virtue (Baryshnikov-Zippast) third.
The Group 1 VRC Sires Produce Stakes was Race 5 on the program and TBNSW members provided the winner of the event. Pillaging (Marauding(NZ)-Preview) bred by Mr G Fischl scored most impressively from Delago Brom (Encosta de Lago-Brompton Cross) with Tom Coureuse (Beautiful Crown(USA)-Coureuse) in third position.
The Group 2 Blamey Stakes was Race 6 on the program and it was won by Tears Royal (Royal Academy(USA)-Don’t Cry) from Weasel Will (Weasel Clause-La Tourelle) with Consular (Royal Academy(USA)-Miss Prospect) third.
It was a winner and a third placing for TBNSW members in Race 7 the ATA/Bob Hoysted Handicap a Listed Race over 1100 metres. Suit (Procol Harum(NZ)-Fashions) bred by Woodlands Stud was successful from Libidinious (Jugah(USA)-Turf Time) with Sir Talaq (At Talaq(USA)-French Sculptor) bred by Mr M A Carlile in third position.
The Duke of Norfolk Stakes a Listed Race over 3200 metres was Race 8 on the program. Cavallo Bruno(NZ)(Kinjite(NZ)-Fallacy(NZ)) won from Soldier Blue(NZ)(Sir Sian(NZ)-Va Bene(NZ)) with Soldado (Military Plume(NZ)-Siloel(CAN)) third.
In Brisbane 16.03.02 Eagle Farm was the venue for the 8 event program in Queensland on Saturday. TBNSW members recorded a second placing and 2 third placings on the day.

It was a third placing for TBNSW members in Race 4 the Show Ads Handicap when Stars in Bars (Kaaptive Edition(NZ)-Moni Star) scored from De Canny (Dehere(USA)-Miss Candy) with Storm Scene (Scenic(IRE)-Cloudlet) bred by Mr L Young in third position.
It was a third placing for TBNSW members in Race 5 the Yellow Cabs Super QQRIS Added Stakes Handicap. Sha Alma (Semipalatinsk(USA)-Sha Michelle) won from Sovereign Impulse (Clang-Sovereign Century) with Palidamah (Mukaddamah(USA)-Palixandre) bred by Miss A O Raymond in third place.
In Perth 16.03.02 TBNSW members recorded a third placing in the Burswood Casino-Gimcrack Stakes a Listed Race over 1400 metres for two-year-old fillies. Amphritite (Statoblest(IRE)-Yasmin Tudor) won from Suave Lady (Magic of Money-Bali Dancer) with Mega Me (Danewin-Party Time) bred by Milburn Creek Thoroughbreds in third position.

Black type racing was conducted in Melbourne on Monday, with the highlight being the Group 1 Australian Cup. Sydney and Brisbane held their respective meetings at Canterbury Park and Eagle Farm.
In Melbourne Monday 11th of March 2002 Flemington was the venue for a nine event card on Monday which featured the Group 1 Australian Cup. TBNSW members recorded 2 second placings on the day.
It was a second placing for TBNSW members in Race 1 the Labour Day Handicap when McBeal (Jeune(GB)-Freebird) scored from La Zoffany (Zoffany(USA)-Sharp in Slippery) bred by Mr C D and Mrs J J Ellis with Locquacious (Royal Academy(USA)-Dateless(NZ)) third.
The Group 3 TBV Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes run over 1200 metres for Two-year-old fillies was Race 3 on the program. Dama De Nouche (Snippets-Daisy Bates(IRE)) was successful from Dubai Ice (Danehill(USA)-Skating) with Centella (Spectrum(IRE)-Kashya(NZ)) in third place.
TBNSW members recorded a second placing in Race 5 on the program the Schweppes 1100 a listed race over 1100 metres. Taimana(NZ)(Woodman(USA)-Abbaye) won from Donna Natalia (Anabaa(USA)-Marskin) bred by Vinery Australia with Raja Lane (Devaraja(NZ)-English Lane) in third position.
The Group 1 Australian Cup was Race 6 on the program run over 2000 metres. In a close finish Western Australian gallopers provided the quinella when Old Comrade (Old Spice-Belgravia) saluted from Northerly (Serheed(USA)-North Bell) with Rain Gauge (Kenvain-Turn to Rain) third.
Race 8 on the program was the Group 3 Tooheys New Plate run over 1400 metres. Shelbourne Lass (Brocco(USA)-Catherine Mary(NZ) was too good for Ramano’s Star (Bletchencore-Romano’s Magic) wityh Spurn (Flying Spur-Espiare(NZ)) in third position.
In Sydney Monday 11th of March 2002 The Sydney meeting was held at Canterbury Park with eight events on the program. TBNSW members recorded 2 winners, 2 second placings and 2 third placings on the day.
TBNSW members opened their account with a winner in Race 3 the De Bortoli Wines Gulf Station Handicap. Covina (Covetous-Harriet Emma) bred by Macquarie Stud was successful from A Deena (Son of Gibloran-Amanda’s Pet) with Modern(NZ)(Pompeii Court(USA)-Alvarensky(NZ)) third.

Both second and third placegetters were bred by Woodlands Stud.

Arlington Road (Danehill(USA)-Joie de Vivre) bred by Mr Gerry Harvey saluted from Ugachaka(NZ)(Danasinga-Bolshoi Star(NZ)) with Gordo (Brief Truce(USA)-Spirit) bred by Woodlands Stud third.

Universal Prince (Scenic(IRE)-Biscay Bird) was successful from Dress Circle(NZ)(Zabeel(NZ)-Flight Queen(NZ)) with Freemason (Grand Lodge(USA)-Sashed(NZ)) bred by Woodlands Stud in third place.
The other highlight of the meeting was Race 6 the Group 1 Coolmore Classic run over 1500 metres for fillies and mares and TBNSW members recorded a third placing. The champion mare Sunline (Desert Sun(GB)Songline(NZ)) recorded her 11th Group 1 win and an historic 2nd Coolmore Classic when she won from Gentle Genius (Danehill(USA)-Darazina(FR)) with Nanny Maroon (Alquoz(USA)-Fyzabad) bred by Mr K J Nash in third position.
It was back to the winner’s circle for TBNSW members in Race 7 the Group 3 Australian Tie Company Stakes when Bradshaw was successful. Bradshaw (Last Tycoon(IRE)-Shaybisc) bred by Woodlands Stud scored from Canny Fly (Canny Lad-Baldeen) with Pembleton (Marauding(NZ)-Royal Aria(NZ)) third.
In Melbourne Saturday 9th of March 2002 Flemington was the venue for a nine event card on Saturday with the highlight of the meeting being the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap. It was a quiet day for TBNSW members who recorded 1 winner (in the Group 2 event).
Race 5 on the program was the PFD Food Services Stakes a listed race over 1400 metres. Tears Royal (Royal Academy(USA)-Don’t Cry) was too good for Notation (Danewin-Amazing Hit(NZ)) with Fappiano’s Son (Dolphin Street(FR)-Fappiano’s Girl) third.
The Group 1 Newmarket Handicap was Race 6 on the program run over 1200 metres and in a very close finish half the starters in the race finished within 1½ lengths of each other. The winner was Rubitano (Rubiton-Mrs Soffel) by a short half head to North Boy (Rory’s Jester-North Bell) with Mistegic (Strategic-Volcanic Mist) a half head away in third position.
TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle in Race 8 the Group 2 Kewney Stakes run over 1600 metres. Elegant Fashion (Danewin-Wily Trick(USA)) bred by Emirates Park Pty Limited scored from Bridal Hill (Unbridled’s Song(USA)-Stormy Hill) with Gold Lottey (Encosta de Lago-Lottey) in third position.

In Sydney 02.03.02 – night meeting The venue was Canterbury Park for black type night racing in Sydney on Saturday with the highlight being the Group 1 Canterbury Guineas. It was a great night for TBNSW members who recorded 4 of the 8 winners (including a Group 3 and 2 Listed Race wins), 5 second placings and 4 third placings.
It was a second placing for TBNSW members in Race 1 the Skyline Stakes a Group 3 event for two-year-old colts and geldings. Choisir (Danehill Dancer(IRE)-Great Selection) scored from Emerging Star (Anabaa(USA)-Arising) bred by Kirkby Investments Pty Ltd with Charlie Bub(NZ)(O’Reilly(NZ)-Ungara(NZ)) third.

In Melbourne 02.03.02 – night meeting Moonee Valley was the venue for the night race meeting in Melbourne. TBNSW members recorded a winner on the night.

In Canberra Black type racing was held at Canberra on Saturday with the two highlights of the day being the Group 3 Black Opal Stakes and the National Sprint a listed event. It was a great day for TBNSW members who provided the winners for both of the highlights.
First up was the National Sprint and a win for TBNSW members. Make Me a Miracle (Flying Spur-Commercial Choice(USA)) bred by Mr S F Johnson was too good for Impregnable (Bite the Bullet(USA)-Heaven Blessed) with Knickerbocker Kid (Opera Prince-Mannequin) in third place.
The Group 3 Black Opal Stakes a 1200 metre event for two-year-olds was the next race on the program and TBNSW members provided the quinella. It was a fantastic weekend of racing for TBNSW members who recorded a Group 1 win (Tie The Knot), two Group 2 wins (Hosannah and Elegant Fashion) and a Group 3 win (Snowland).
In Sydney 23.02.02Warwick Farm was the venue for black type racing in Sydney on Saturday with eight events on the card, with the highlight being the Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes. It was a great day for TBNSW members who recorded 5 of the 8 winners (including Group 1, 2 and 3 wins), 4 second placings and 4 third placings.
TBNSW members were off to a flying start with the winner and third placing in Race 1 the Liverpool Handicap. Mission Statement (Marscay-Rewhite) scored from Wild Heart (Unbridled’s Song(USA)-Blushing Rose(USA)) with Conspirator (Marscay-Angel’s Wings) third. Both the winner and third placegetter were bred by Bhima Pty Limited.

In Sydney 16/02/2002 We returned to Royal Randwick (and the course proper) for an eight event card in Sydney on Saturday, with the highlights being the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes and the Group 2 Apollo Stakes. It was a great day for TBNSW members who recorded 4 winners (including a Group 2 event) and 4 third placings.
It was a third placing for TBNSW members in Race 1 the Qantas Matt Burke Handicap. Honey Ryder (Hector Protector(USA)-Special Licence) was successful from Whistle Dixie(NZ))(Star Way(GB)-Proteaceae) with Seesaw (Sea Swell-Rectify) bred by Eclipse Stud in third position.
It was third again for TBNSW members in Race 2 the Qantas Chris Whitaker Handicap when Fleecing (Anabba(USA)-Stealing) won from Dudley Do Right (Integra-Princess Dudley) with Pennywort (Grand Lodge(USA)-Penny) bred by Woodlands Stud in third place.

Lonhro (Octagonal(NZ)-Shadea(NZ)) bred by Woodlands Stud was too strong for Athens(NZ)(The Jogger(USA)-Te Kowhia(NZ)) with Moonflute (Danehill(USA)-Her Mink Coat(USA)) in third position.
The other highlight of the program was Race 6 the Quasar Constructions Apollo Stakes a Group 2 event over 1400 metres and TBNSW members recorded a third placing with the very popular Tie The Knot. The race was won by Ha Ha (Danehill(USA)-Very Droll) who scored most impressively from El Mirada (El Moxie(USA)-Gayle’s Glance) with Tie The Knot (Nassipour(USA)-Whisked) bred by Mr O P Tait and Mrs S S Nivison flashing home to finish in third position.
