The second of the metropolitan mid-week race meetings in Sydney this week was held at Warwick Farm with seven events on the card. TBNSW members recorded 3 winners, 3 second placings and 3 third placings on the day.

TBNSW members went straight into the winner’s circle when Taikun saluted in Race 1 the Minoru Maiden Plate. Taikun (Anabaa(USA)-Tyrises) bred by Mr J B Cummings was too good for Request Granted (Quest for Fame(GB)-Camille) with Rockin Roller (Danewin-Be Bop a Lula(NZ)) third.

A quinella for TBNSW members in Race 2 the Paddington Handicap. Pristine Partners (Lake Coniston(IRE)-Syd’s Star) bred by Mr J R Cribb was successful from Hotter Than Hell (Palace Music(USA)-Too Darn Hot(NZ)) bred by Mr A E Vrisakis with Craiglea Fame (Manshood(CAN)-Kumbari(NZ)) third.

Second and third placings for TBNSW members in Race 3 the Paddock Handicap. Imana (Thunder Gulch(USA)-Zarissa(NZ)) scored from Suntegic (Strategic-Marina Sunset(GB)) bred by Boscobel Stud with Miss Columbus (Spinning World(USA)-Gee Mona(USA)) bred by Mrs J S Mackay in third position.

A third placing for TBNSW members in Race 5 the Semaphore Maiden Handicap. Barberton (Flying Spur-Gwalia) won from Baronial (Woodman(USA)-La Volta) with Al Tharb (Grand Lodge(USA)-Pontal Lass) bred by Newhaven Park Stud and Wilkes Thoroughbreds close up in third place.

A quinella for TBNSW members in Race 6 the Birdcage Handicap. Carry on Mate (Carry The Crown (CAN)-Aces in Vain) bred by Mr M J Stacey was successful from Cataclysm (Marauding(NZ)-Chaparra) bred by Woodlands Stud with Wardsky (Carry The Crown (CAN)-Moorefield Star) third.

TBNSW members finished the day with a third placing in Race 7 the Mulgoa Handicap. Musical Beat (Palace Music(USA)-Georgie Lady) won from Dane Height (Danewin-Strickland) with Sir Covet (Covetous-Silent Dawn) bred by Kentucky Thoroughbreds in third position.

Black type racing was held at Balaklava today with the running of the listed Balaklava Cup and TBNSW members recorded a second placing in the event. Roman Arch (Archway(IRE)-Celestial Option) was successful from Cumbria (Lake Coniston(IRE)-Crowning Jewel) bred by Barador Pty Limited with Sciatica (Blevic-Top Polish) in third place.

Moonee Valley was the venue for mid-week race meeting in Melbourne with eight events on the card. It was a quiet day for TBNSW members who recorded 3 third placings.

TBNSW members opened their account with a third placing in Race 2 the Winning Edge Presentations Handicap. Delargo Moon (Encosta de Lago-Orbitino) won from Blue Juno (Bluebird(USA)-Shudder) with Danrego (Danzero-Marrego) bred by Bhima Pty Limited in third position.

A third placing for TBNSW members in Race 4 the Business Network Luncheon Handicap. Reef Beach (Danzero-Attire(USA)) was successful from Casual Pass (Snippets-Raami’s Magic) with Strafed (Quest for Fame(GB)-Titillate(NZ)) bred by Woodlands Stud in third place.

Another third placing for TBNSW members in Race 7 the Australian Racing Calendar Handicap. Holding (Sequalo-Cheer Girl) scored from Applicant (Anabaa(USA)-Outremer) with Mister Kaye (Snippets-Marks Gain) bred by Corumbene Stud in third position.

A second placing for TBNSW members in Race 5 the Vodka Cruiser Handicap. Vanish (Zeditave-Quaint) scored from She’s News (Grand Lodge(USA)-World News(NZ)) bred by Rheinwood Pastoral Company with Saffie Darling (Catrail(USA)-Courtroom Sweetie) in third position.

A great result for TBNSW members providing the trifecta in Race 6 the Webster Signage Group Handicap. Native Jester (Rory’s Jester-Native Thriller) bred by Macquarie Stud was successful from Ms Bowie (Anabaa(USA)-Iman) bred by Bill Duncan Bloodstock Pty Ltd and Widden Stud with Hover (Eagle Eyed(USA)-Set Aside) bred by J W Kelly Suffolk Vale & Co in third place.

A quinella for TBNSW members in Race 2 the Alexandria Handicap. Play Around (Canny Lad-Dancing Jester) bred by Mr P Horwitz was successful from Apiary (Desert Prince(IRE)-Honey Be Quick(NZ)) bred by Woodlands Stud with Desert Ransom (Desert Prince(IRE)-Harem Queen) third.

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle again in Race 3 the Botany Handicap when Solid as a Rock scored. Solid as a Rock (Danehill(USA)-Captiva(NZ)) bred by Swettenham Stud was too strong for Orrance (Sir Laurence(NZ)-Curley’s Gal) with Wolfman Jack (Lycius(USA)-Bay Love) in third place.

A third placing for TBNSW members in Race 4 the Chifley Handicap. Tessamo (Tierce-Pensiamo) won from Acacia Bay (Rodrigo De Triano(USA)-Calvinia) with Nagoya (Quest for Fame(GB)-Suzuka) bred by Woodlands Stud in third position.

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle again when Strabane was successful in Race 5 the Malabar Handicap. Strabane (Rivotious (USA)-Controversial) bred by C & R Thurecht Pty Limited was too good for Wardsky (Carry the Crown(CAN)-Moorefield Star) with Irish Letter (Switch In Time(IRE)-Lil’ Lippy) third.

Second and third placings for TBNSW members in Race 6 the Surry Hills Handicap. Thundarosa (Thunder Gulch(USA)-Double Fanchetto(NZ)) won from Andorran (Last Tycoon(IRE)-Pyranee) bred by Mr G Harvey with Hy Fuji (Fuji Kiseki(JPN)-Hysterical) bred by Mr M F Doyle and Craiglea Fame (Manshood(CAN-Kumbari(NZ)) deadheating for third.

A great result for TBNSW members in Race 7 the Potts Point Handicap providing the trifecta in the event. De Arman (Bemboka Spirit-Spy’s Lass) bred by Mr D L Nancarrow finished too strongly for Raminco (Shalford(IRE)-Carbon Quote) bred by Miss A O Raymond with Gobi (Desert King(IRE)-Alpine Villa(IRE)) bred by Mr O P Tait and Mrs S S Nivison in third position.

In Brisbane

Black type racing was held at the Gold Coast today with the running of the listed Carlton Draught Goldmarket Handicap which was taken out by Consular (Royal Academy(USA)-Miss Prospect) from Under Suspicion (Might Avalanche-Report to Me) with Feelers (Quest for Fame(GB)-Tidal Rhythm(NZ)) in third place.

Sandown Lakeside was the venue for mid-week race meeting in Melbourne with eight events on the card. It was a quiet day for TBNSW members who recorded a second placing and a third placing on the day.

A third placing for TBNSW members in Race 2 the Green Wave Super Vobis Handicap. Abdullah (Desert Sun(GB)-Replicate) was successful from Enzeel (Bahamian Bounty(GB)-Tiara Blaze(NZ)) with Markane (Red Ransom(USA)-Kew Gardens(FR)) bred by Mr DPR Esplin in third position.

A second placing for TBNSW members in Race 3 the Kind Lark Handicap. Lady Sophia (With Class(CAN)-Surface Raider) scored narrowly from Star of Flight (Marscay-Malibu Light) bred by Bhima Pty Limited with Feisty Lass (Jugah(USA)-Entente Cordiale) third.

TBNSW members were off to a flying start providing the quinella in the opening race on the program the Hayman Great Barrier Reef Handicap. Copeton (Danehill(USA)-Audimco) bred by Bhima Pty Limited was successful from Al Tharb (Grand Lodge(USA)-Pontal Lass) bred by Newhaven Park Stud and Wilkes Thoroughbreds with Baronial (Woodman(USA)-La Volta) third.

A quinella for TBNSW members in Race 2 the Fantastic Light at Darley Handicap. Timidity (Buck’s Pride-Gentle Breeze) bred by Mr G Norman from Gee Trump (Last Tycoon(IRE)-Centollua) bred by Mr G Harvey with Raging Rula (Night Shift(USA)-Tyrannic) in third place.
