Hong Kong Record to Silent Witness

What more can be said about Silent Witness!  He has proven yet again that he is truly an outstanding horse.  On Sunday 25 April 2004 he won the last leg of the Hong Kong Champion Sprint Series, the Group 1 Chairman’s Sprint, and in so doing has set a new Hong Kong record of 11 consecutive wins.

Silent Witness (AUS) (El Moxie(USA)-Jade Tiara) bred by TBNSW member Mr I K Smith of Edinburgh Park Stud, led throughout to score by 2¼ lengths from Cape of Good Hope(GB)(Inchinor-Cape Merino) with Electronic Unicorn (USA) (Housebuster-Lilac Garden) a short head back in third position. The TBNSW Committee and all TBNSW members send their congratulations to Ian Smith.

Silent Witness secured a bonus of HK$2million for his owners Mr and Mrs A da Silva for winning all three legs of the Champion Sprint Series which comprised the Group 1 Bauhinia Sprint Trophy, the Group 1 Centenary Sprint Cup and the Group 1 Chairman’s Sprint.

The race looked like a replay of Silent Witness’ other race starts in that he jumped well, led the race then once in the home stretch, after a customary flick of the reins from his jockey Felix Coetzee, Silent Witness responded to win as he pleased.

Silent Witness takes his career prizemoney to HK$25,181,900 from his eleven wins and will now take a well-earned rest whilst his connections decide where to race next.
