WEEKEND RACING - 29/11/03

Black Type Racing was held in Western Australia , New South Wales , Queensland and South Australia this week.  Perth was again the focus with Belmont hosting the running of the Group 1 Railway Stakes, the Group 3 WA Champion Fillies Stakes and the listed TJ Smith Trophy.  Rosehill was the venue in Sydney for the listed Festival Stakes.  Eagle Farm in Brisbane hosted the listed Recognition Stakes whilst Victoria Park in Adelaide was the venue for the listed JRA Trophy.

 

In Perth

Belmont was the venue in Perth for black type racing with the running of the Group 1 Railway Stakes, the Group 3 WA Champion Fillies Stakes and the listed TJ Smith Trophy.

 

The first of the black type races was the Group 3 WA Champion Fillies Stakes for three-year-old fillies run over 1600 metres.  Spirit Lady (Dauberval(USA)-Horoscope) was successful from Tissot (Laranto-Khaddad) with Belhari (Dr Johnson(USA)-Rosette) third.

 

The Group 1 Railway Stakes run over 1600 metres was the main event on the card and it was taken out by Hardrada (Marooned(GB)- Marrich Bay ) from Early Express (Dauberval(USA)-Early Dawn) with Mapperholic (Mapperley’s Star-Capaholic) in third place.

 

The last of the black type race was the listed T J Smith Trophy.  Happy Johnson (Dr Johnson(USA)-Gay Dolphin) scored from Mystic Force (Brocco(USA)-Petite Amour) with Black Tom (Langfuhr(CAN)-Narmada(USA)) in third position.

 

In Sydney

Rosehill Gardens was the venue for black type racing in Sydney on Saturday with running of the listed Festival Stakes on a nine event card.   TBNSW members recorded 2 winners, a second placing and 3 third placings on the day.

 

TBNSW members recorded a third placing in Race 1 the Erect Safe Scaffolding Handicap.  Crimson Reign (Red Ransom(USA)- Crimson Road ) won from Wizard Princess (Rory’s Jester-Christchurch) with Peppercorns (Strategic-Pepperpot) bred by Woodlands Stud in third position.

 

A third placing for TBNSW members in Race 3 the M J Seymour & Co Handicap.  Glasos (Snippets-Lusso) scored from Perfect Rhapsody (Shovog-Perfect Melody) with Potter (Torrential( USA )-Tennessee Magic) bred by Vinery Australia  in third place.

 

TBNSW members recorded a quinella in Race 5 the Uniserve 25th Anniversary Handicap.  Rosmarino (Langfuhr(CAN)-Amaia) bred by Dr R J and Mrs J L Slack-Smith was successful from Ausbred Blue (Bluebird(USA)-Stormy Zephyr) bred by Mr C Lawlor with Sequi (Danehill(USA)-Sequenza(IRE)) third.

 

The highlight of the program was Race 8 the listed Festival Stakes run over 1400 metres and it was a third placing for TBNSW members.  This Manshood (Manshood(CAN)-Our Gilded Lily) won from Palladium Star (Palace Music(USA)-Lady Sawino) with Salgado (Danewin-Slight Chance) bred by Hobartville Stud in third position.

 

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle when Azraq saluted in Race 9 the Asi Solutions Handicap.  Azraq (Danehill Dancer(IRE)-Rhapsody in Blue) bred by Cescastle Pty Limited was too good for The Man (Dehere(USA)-Lycra(NZ)) with Prime Century(NZ)(Centaine-Pirouette(NZ)) third.

 

In Brisbane

Eagle Farm was the venue in Brisbane for an eight event card on Saturday with the highlight being the listed Recognition Stakes.  TBNSW members recorded a winner and 2 third placings on the day.

 

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle when Corporate scored in Race 5 the Hardy Brothers Jewellers Country Cup.  Corporate (Switch In Time(IRE)-Lady Millicent(NZ)) bred by Mr J M Clift was too strong for Sports Class (Lion Hunter-Via Maris) with Keep the Ace (Celestial Dancer(IRE)-Pambitoga) third.

 

The feature event on the program was Race 7 the listed Recognition Stakes run over 1600 metres and it was a third placing for TBNSW members.  General Minolta (Nediym(IRE)-Minolta) was successful from Alfonso (Sequalo-Raespell) with Experience (Quest for Fame(GB)-Trousseau) bred by Woodlands Stud in third position.

 

A third placing for TBNSW members in Race 8 the Hamilton Hotel Handicap.  Free Spins(NZ)(Bigstone(IRE)-Sumasong(USA)) won from Messiaen (Celestial Dancer(IRE)-Grand Shower) with Storm Scene (Scenic(IRE)-Cloudet) bred by Mr L Young in third place.

 

In Adelaide

Victoria Park was the venue in Adelaide for black type racing on Saturday with the running of the listed JRA Trophy which was taken out by Pipkin (Gallo Di Ferro(USA)-Cuplet) from Odysseus (Kings High-Our Silver Han) with Foxborough (Flying Spur-Zantoussa) in third place.

 

In Melbourne

Moonee Valley was the venue for racing in Melbourne on Saturday with eight events on the program.   TBNSW members recorded 2 winners on the day.

 

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle when Go Fuhrever saluted in Race 2 the Schepisi Plate.  Go Fuhrever (Langfuhr(CAN)-Shortcrust(GB)) bred by Luskin Lodge was too good for Can Lago (Encosta de Lago-Cantinela) with Sunboat (End Sweep(USA)-Our Side Show) in third place.

 

The winner’s circle again for TBNSW members in Race 7 the Geelong Football Club Sprint when Toast of the Coast scored.  Toast of the Coast (Rory’s Jester-Solo Show(NZ)) bred by Mr M A Pitt was too strong for Mr Casanova (Suave Dancer(USA)-Red Chiffon) with Deprave (Keltrice-Prav) in third position.

 

WEEKEND RACING - 22/11/03

Black Type Racing was held in Western Australia , Victoria , Queensland , South Australia and Tasmania this week.  The focus moved to Perth for the running of the Group 3 Peters Stakes, the listed Crawford Stakes, the listed Tattersalls Cup and the listed Placid Ark Stakes.  Caulfield was the venue in Melbourne for the Group 3 Eclipse Stakes and the listed Merson Cooper Stakes.  Eagle Farm in Brisbane was the venue for the listed Queensland Cup.  Morphettville in Adelaide was the venue for the listed City of Marion Stakes whilst Launceston in Tasmania hosted the listed Newmarket Handicap.

 

TBNSW members were successful in the listed Queensland Cup.

 

In Perth

Belmont was the venue in Perth for black type racing with the running of the Group 3 Peters Stakes, the listed Crawford Stakes, the listed Tattersalls Cup and the listed Placid Ark Stakes.

 

The first of the black type races was the listed Placid Ark Stakes run over 1200 metres and it was a second placing for TBNSW members.  Ellicorsam (Fimiston-Premium Gold) was successful from Diffraction (Spectrum(IRE)-Pushy Dancer(NZ)) bred by Swettenham Stud with Pure Excitement (Bletchley Park(IRE)-Pure Smile) in third place.

 

The listed Tattersall’s Cup was the next black type race on the program and it was taken out by Free At Last(NZ)(Senor Pete(USA)-Bargibant(NZ)) from Celtus (Celtic Swing(GB)-Georgie Lady) with True Steel (Jeune(GB)-How Special third.

 

The listed R S Crawford Stakes run over 1200 metres was the following black type event.  Cation (Catrail(USA)-Vainremer) was too good for Stockie’s Yarn (Metal Storm(FR)-Sermento) with Deveil’s Dance (Dauberbal(USA)-Look Who’s Here) in third position.

 

The feature event on the day was the Group 3 Peters Stakes run over 1600 metres and it was taken out by Modem (Bletchley Park(IRE)-Refurbish) from Mogul (Serheed(USA)-Bonus) with Kensyl Bay (Tribu-Princess Hayley) in third place.

 

In Melbourne

Caulfield was the venue for black type racing in Melbourne on Saturday with the running of the Group 3 Eclipse Stakes and the listed Merson Cooper Stakes on an eight event card.   TBNSW members recorded a winner and a second placing on the day.

 

Race 2 on the program was the listed Merson Cooper Stakes for two-year-olds run over 1000 metres.  The NSW bred Lunaspur (Flying Spur-Lunaliona(GB)) was too good for The General (General Nediym-La Famosa) with the NSW bred Coraticum (Orpen(USA)-Blushing Rose(USA)) in third position.

 

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle when El Maze saluted in Race 4 the Tolerance Super Vobis Handicap.  El Maze (El Moxie(USA)-Almazyoon) bred by Emirates Park Pty Limited scored most impressively from Grace and Power (Baryshnikov-Almighty Sister) with Neng Rain (Desert Sun (GB)-Cryptianna) third.

 

The highlight of the program was Race 5 the Group 3 Eclipse Stakes run over 2020 metres.  Zazzman (Distinctly North(USA)-Glen Iris) continued his good form by scoring from Chairman’s Choice (Runyon(IRE)-Shameem) with You Little Beaut (Jeune(GB)-Most Beautiful) in third place.

 

A second placing for TBNSW members in Race 8 the Swell Time Handicap.  Wild Rapid (Wild Harmony(USA)-True Rapid) was successful from Umagold (Umatilla(NZ)-Hialeah Gold) bred by Mr R A Ferguson with Bella Moxie (El Moxie(USA)-Home Going(NZ)) third.

 

In Brisbane

Eagle Farm was the venue in Brisbane for an eight event card on Saturday with the highlight being the listed Queensland Cup.  TBNSW members recorded a winner (a listed race) and 2 second placings on the day.

 

TBNSW members opened their account with a second placing in Race 4 the Northern City Finance Redlands Handicap.  Alfonso (Sequalo-Raespell) was successful from Command the Wind (Last Tycoon(IRE)-Tempest Command) bred by Tabudan Pty Limited with Kavorka (St Jude-Dancing Pump) in third position.

 

A second placing for TBNSW members in Race 5 the Northern City Finance Brisbane South Handicap.  King Lotto (Bellotto(USA)-Bas Bleu(NZ)) won from Wide Awake (Quest for Fame(GB)-Insominiac) bred by Woodlands Stud with Startell (Mister Kwila-Bernalla) third.

 

The main event on the program was the listed Queensland Cup, Race 6 run over 3200 metres and TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle when Kugelhopf saluted.  Kugelhopf (Akaaber(USA)-Bebhinn) bred by Inverness Stud was too good for Barhill (Croation Hill-Barberna) with Up the Bid (Unbid Slam-Special Angie) in third place.

 

In Adelaide

Morphettville was the venue in Adelaide for black type racing on Saturday with the running of the listed City of Marion Stakes which was taken out by Lemonade Parade (Jenue(GB)-Amfast) from Starhere (Dehere(USA)-Frontier Star) with Winning Spirit (Marwina-Whiskey Reign) in third position.

 

In Sydney

Royal Randwick was the venue for racing in Sydney on Saturday with eight events on the program.   TBNSW members recorded 2 winners and 2 third placings on the day.

 

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle when Mufti saluted in Race 2 the Rosemount Handicap.  Mufti (Quest for Fame(GB)-Trousseau) bred by Woodlands Stud was too good for Kingside(NZ)(Kaapstad(NZ)-Madame Faubourg(NZ)) with Go Gus (Marwina-Shukey) third.

 

A third placing for TBNSW members in Race 5 the Marcellin College Randwick 80th Anniversary Handicap.  Sadler’s Song (Song of Tara(IRE)-Alouette) won from Reclaim (Ascot Knight(CAN)-Spring Serenade) with Viking Tor (Danehill(USA)-Strawberry Girl(USA)) bred by Strawberry Hill Stud in third position.

 

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle again when Incarnation scored in Race 7 the Devils Lair Handicap.  Incarnation (Danzero-Spirit of Paris) bred by Gazal Thoroughbreds Pty Limited and Mr S Iskander was too strong for Erin Bee (Anabaa(USA)-Crusading Lil(USA)) with Southern Rose (Unbridled’s Song(USA)-The Roscoe Rose(USA)) third.

 

A third placing for TBNSW members in Race 8 the Coldstream Hills Handicap.  Scenic Boom (Scenic(IRE)-Princess Salina(NZ)) won from Sunshine Sam(NZ)(Desert Sun(GB)-Crest View) with Blue Patriarch (My Patriarch(GB)-Kalevala) bred by Eclipse Stud in third place.

 

In Tasmania

Launceston was the venue in Tasmania for black type racing on Sunday with the running of the listed Newmarket Handicap which was taken out by Dragila (Encosta de Lago-Calypso Breeze(NZ)) from Red Dragon (Aliocha(USA)-Countess of Sefton) with Birle’s Gamble (Ladoni(GB)-Birle’s Magic) in third position.

 

WEEKEND RACING - 15/11/03

Black Type Racing was held in Melbourne , Perth and Brisbane this week.  Sandown Lakeside was the venue in Melbourne for the running of the Group 2 Sandown Guineas, the Group 2 Sandown Classic, the Group 3 Sandown Stakes, the listed Twilight Glow Stakes, the listed Summoned Stakes and the listed Kevin Heffernan Stakes.  Ascot was the venue in Perth for the Group 2 Western Australian Guineas and the Group 2 Lee Steere Stakes.  Eagle Farm in Brisbane was the venue for the listed Brisbane Handicap.

 

TBNSW members were successful in the listed Twilight Glow Stakes, the listed Summoned Stakes and the listed Kevin Heffernan Stakes.

 

In Melbourne

Sandown Lakeside was the venue for black type racing in Melbourne on Saturday with the running of the Group 2 Sandown Guineas, the Group 2 Sandown Classic, the Group 3 Sandown Stakes, the listed Twilight Glow Stakes, the listed Summoned Stakes and the listed Kevin Heffernan Stakes. TBNSW members recorded 5 winners (including three LR), 2 second placings and a third placing on the day.

 

TBNSW members were off to a flying start when Sigishoara saluted in the opening event on the card the Baryshnikov Super Vobis Handicap.  Sigishoara (Dracula-Suburb) bred by Woodlands Stud was too strong for Quantong (Archway(IRE)-Miss Fancy Nancy) with Barabba Road (Snaadee(USA)-Prima Donna) and Express Ball (Success Express(USA)-Belle of the Ball(IRE)) dead-heating for third.

 

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle in Race 2 the Patrobas Welter Handicap when Mythological scored.  Mythological (Bite the Bullet(USA)-Mythos) bred by Woodlands Stud was too good for Shinkansen(NZ)(Shinko King(IRE)-Shipstone(NZ)) with Uffizi (Royal Academy(USA)-Cheval Place) in third place.

 

The first of the black type races was Race 3 on the program, the listed Twilight Glow Stakes run over 1400 metres for three-year-old fillies and is was a great result for TBNSW members who provided the trifecta in the event.  Magsaya (Danehill Dancer(IRE)-Priceless Joy) bred by Gooree Park Stud was successful from Ekali (Torrential(USA)-Compulsion) bred by Vinery Australia with Living Spirit (Hennessy(USA)-Livelihood) bred by Swettenham Stud in third position.

 

The winner’s circle again for TBNSW members in Race 4 the listed Kevin Heffernan Stakes.  Super Groove (Dehere(USA)-Tyrises) bred by Mr J B Cummings won from Recurring(NZ)(Pentire(GB)-Donna’s Habit(NZ)) with Rustic Mist (Rustic Amber(IRE)-Little Libbie) third.

 

A second placing for TBNSW members in Race 5 the Group 2 Sandown Guineas.  Pay Keys (Taos-Toora Loora) scored narrowly from Ike’s Dream (King of King’s(IRE)-Mrs Kahn) bred by Bowness Stud with Delzao (Encosta de Lago-Amanusa) in third place.

 

Race 6 on the program was the Group 2 Sandown Classic which was taken out by Legible(NZ)(Zabeel(NZ)-Waihora’s Lass(NZ)) from Distinctly Secret(NZ) (Distinctly North(USA)-Te Akau Secret(NZ)) with Zazzman (Distinctly North(USA)-Glen Iris) third.

 

TBNSW members were back in the winner’s circle in Race 7 the listed Summoned Stakes when Irongail scored.  Irongail (Canny Lad-Young Vic(GB)) bred by Mr G J Fischl was too good for Given (Canny Lad-Mad Desire) with Infinite Grace (Prince of Birds(USA)-Infinite Charm in third position.

 

The Group 3 Sandown Stakes was Race 8 on the program.  Chong Tong (Encosta de Lago-Coquetry) was successful from Lord Volksraad(NZ) (Volksraad(GB)-Morangie(NZ)) with Green Pick (Picnicker-Kusha Green) third.

 

In Perth

Ascot was the venue in Perth for black type racing with the running of the Group 2 Western Australian Guineas and the Group 2 Lee Steere Stakes.

 

The first of the black type races was the Group 2 Western Australian Guineas which was won by the NSW bred River Mist (Sri Pekan(USA)-Dance Misty for Me) from Changing Lanes (Racer’s Edge-Throwing Copper) with Laetare (Serheed(USA)-Magdela) third.

 

The other black type event was the Group 2 Lee Steere Stakes.  Early Express (Dauberval(USA)-Early Dawn) was successful from Modem (Bletchley Park(IRE)-Refurbish) with Finito (Palace Reign-Rare Idol) in third place.

 

In Sydney

Rosehill Gardens was the venue for racing in Sydney on Saturday with eight events on the program.   It was a good day for TBNSW members who recorded  5 winners, 3 second placings and 3 third placings.

 

A quinella for TBNSW members in Race 1 the Bradley Photographers Handicap.  Deafen (Dangerous-Orchestrations) bred by Woodlands Stud was successful from Irish Loup (Loup Sauvage(USA)-Irish Cove) bred by Ruane Menangle with Subreilly(NZ)(O’Reilly(NZ)-Subpoena) third.

 

A great result for TBNSW members in Race 2 the Safilo Eyewear Handicap providing the trifecta in the event.  Octennial (Octagonal(NZ)-Nanshan(IRE)) bred by Mr R A Ferguson scored from Strabane (Rivotious(USA)-Controversial) bred by C & R Thurecht Pty Limited with Portfolios (Octagonal(NZ)-Accummulation) bred by Woodlands Stud in third position.

 

It was the winner’s circle again for TBNSW members when Rosmarino saluted in Race 3 the House of Fraser Jewellers Handicap.  Rosmarino (Langfuhr(CAN)-Amaia) bred by Dr R J and Mrs J L Slack-Smith was too good for Little Jerboa (Langfuhr(CAN)-Vicarious) with Lyn’s Money (Humam(IRE)-Love of Money) third.

 

Second and third placings for TBNSW members in Race 4 the Nivea Visage Handicap.  This Manshood (Manshood(CAN)-Our Gilded Lily) won from Takas (Quest for Fame(GB)-Foreign Bank(NZ)) bred by Woodlands Stud with Precise Timing (Johann Quatz(FR)-Sight) bred by the University of Sydney in third place.

 

A third placing for TBNSW members in Race 5 the Castle Hill Tavern Handicap.  Kingside(NZ)(Kaapstad(NZ)-Madame Fauboug(NZ)) scored from Desert Ransom (Desert Prince(IRE)-Harem Queen) with Duran Duran (Integra-Hawaiian Hula) bred by Ms J Henning in third position.

 

TBNSW members were back in the winner’s circle when Spinning Con scored in Race 6 the Japan Racing Association Cup.  Spinning Con (Spinning World(USA)-Sounds Positive) bred by Mr B J and Mrs P J MacDonald was too strong for Terrace(NZ)(Zabeel(NZ)-Taareck) with Navy Beat (Song of Tara(IRE)-Archors Aweigh) third.

 

TBNSW members finished the day on a winning note when Margic Marvo saluted in Race 8 the Vodka Mudshake Handicap.  Magic Marvo (Bite the Bullet(USA)-Day County) bred by Mr I K Smith was too good for Charlie Bub(BZ)(O’Reilly(NZ)-Ungaro(NZ)) with Lord of Lords (King of Kings(IRE)-Mean Eyes) in third place.

 

In Brisbane

Eagle Farm was the venue in Brisbane for an eight event card on Saturday with the highlight being the listed Brisbane Handicap.  TBNSW members recorded 2 second placings and 2 third placings on the day.

 

A second placing for TBNSW members in Race 3 the McCain’s Handicap.  Victory Ranger (Durbridge-Petit Trianon) was successful from Hot Fame (Quest for Fame(GB)-Kalamarco) bred by Mr A E Vrisakis with Eimeo Bay (Western Symphony(USA)-Bay Tree) third.

 

The highlight of the meeting was Race 6 on the program the listed Brisbane Handicap run over 1600 metres and TBNSW members recorded second and third placings in the event.  General Minolta (Nediym(IRE)-Minolta) won from Stormy Joe (Hurricane Sky-Una Donna(NZ)) bred by Dr J D Woolridge with Make Me a Miracle (Flying Spur-Commercial Choice(USA)) bred by Mr S F Johnson in third position.

 

A third placing for TBNSW members in Race 8 the Pitcher Partners Handicap.  Poachers Luck (Lion Hunter-Millie’s Luck) was successful from Palatine (Semipalatinsk(USA)-Allabern) with Frisco’s Harem (Frisco View(USA)-Sultan’s Dream) bred by Mr D L Nancarrow in third place.

 

WEEKEND RACING - 08/11/03

Black Type Racing was held in Melbourne and Perth this week.  Flemington was the venue in Melbourne for the last day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival with the running of the Group 1 Emirates Stakes, the Group 2 Queen Elizabeth Stakes, the Group 2 Maribyrnong Plate, the Group 3 Matriarch Stakes, the listed Interlink Stakes and the listed Hilton International Stakes.

 

Belmont Park was the venue in Perth for black type racing with the running of the Group 3 Asian Beau Stakes and the listed Ascot Gold Cup.

 

TBNSW members were successful in the listed Interlink Stakes and the listed Hilton International Stakes.

 

In Melbourne

Flemington was the venue for black type racing in Melbourne on Saturday with the running of the Group 1 Emirates Stakes, the Group 2 Queen Elizabeth Stakes, the Group 2 Maribyrnong Plate, the Group 3 Matriarch Stakes, the listed Interlink Stakes and the listed Hilton International Stakes. TBNSW members recorded 3 winners (including 2 Listed Races), a second placing and 4 third placings on the day.

 

TBNSW members opened their account with a third placing in Race 1 the Sport 927 Sprint.  Choreograph (Baryshnikov-Yamani(NZ)) was successful from Midnight Storm (Catrail(USA)-Sound Lightning) with Star of Flight (Marscay-Malibu Light(USA)) bred by Bhima Pty Limited in third position.

 

Race 2 on the program was the Group 2 Maribyrnong Plate run over 1000 metres for Two-year-olds and it was a third placing for TBNSW members.  Sanziro (Danzero-Will Fly) scored from Love Jeddah (Danehill(USA)-Fayfa(IRE)) with Insurgents (Commands-Partisan) bred by Woodlands Stud in third place.

 

The Group 3 Matriarch Stakes was Race 3 on the program and it was taken out by Sweet Corn (Scenic(IREE)-Corn Maizcay) from Sylvaner(NZ)(Danasinga-Isla Bijou(NZ)) with Mrs Tendulkar (Luskin Star-Saving(NZ)) third.

 

A quinella for TBNSW members in Race 4 the listed Interlink Stakes run over 1400 metres.  Fixated (Canny Land-Infatuated) bred by Woodlands Stud was successful from Recapitalize (Royal Academy(USA)-Blayney Breeze(NZ)) bred by Baerami Thoroughbreds with Buffed (Encosta de Lago-Receive(NZ)) in third place.

 

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle when Into the Night saluted in Race 5 the listed Hilton International Stakes.  Into the Night (Rhythm(USA)-Marshow) bred by Mr G Harvey was too good for Bulbasaur (Aliocha(USA)-Haughty Vein) with Prince Rubiton (Rubiton-My Muse) third.

 

The highlight of the program was Race 6 the Group 1 Emirates Stakes run over 1600 metres and it was a third placing for TBNSW members.  Titanic Jack (Encosta de Lago-Gold Tunic( USA )) won from True Glo (Brief Truce(USA)-Toreigo) with Crawl (Dr Grace(NZ)-Traipse) bred by Woodlands Stud in third position.

 

A third placing for TBNSW members in Race 7 the Lexus.  Gold Attire(NZ)(Pentire(GB)-Accent on Gold) scored from Belus (Bletcharm-Swalk) with Ashworth (Royal Academy(USA)-Too Darn Hoot(NZ)) bred by Mr A E Vrisakis in third place.

 

Race 8 on the program was the Group 2 Queen Elizabeth Stakes which was taken out most impressively by Zazzman (Distinctly North (USA)-Glen Iris) from Lord Erin(NZ)(Lord Ballina-Erin Marie(NZ)) with Delvecchio(NZ)(Green Perfume(USA)-Human Touch(NZ)) third.

 

TBNSW members finished the day in the winner’s circle when Regicide scored in Race 9 the Carnival Welter.  Regicide (Strategic-Ekaterin(NZ)) bred by Woodlands Stud was too strong for Silver Birch (Forest Glow(USA)-Bendara Lass) with No Deposit (Radjhasi(USA)-Zazamin) third.

 

In Perth

Belmont Park was the venue in Perth for black type racing with the running of the Group 3 Asian Beau Stakes and the listed Ascot Gold Cup.

 

The first of the black type races was the listed Seppelt Salinger-Ascot Gold Cup run over 2200 metres.  Desert Dreamer (Bletchley Park(IRE)- Mali ) was too good for True Steel (Jeune(GB)-How Special) with Bold Mirage(NZ)(Senor Pete(USA)-Mirra Manda) third.

 

The other black type event was the Group 3 Asian Beau Stakes run over 1400 metres which was taken out by Track Jester (Tenby(GB)-Fer Forge) from Kame’s Hope (Fimiston-Star of Remlap) with Ded Eye Dick (Red Eye Special-Send Your Regards) in third position.

 

In Sydney

Royal Randwick was the venue for racing in Sydney on Saturday with nine events on the program.   TBNSW members recorded 3 winners, 2 second placings and a third placing on the day.

 

It was straight to the winner’s circle for TBNSW members in Race 1 the Vocon Pacific Plate when Yes Boss saluted.  Yes Boss (Marscay-Mosi Au Tunya(USA)) bred by Gooree Park Stud was too good for Magic Quest(GB)-Lodore Magic(NZ)) with Desert Ransom (Desert Prince(IRE)-Harem Queen) third.

 

A second placing for TBNSW members in Race 3 the Glencore Australia Plate.  Jolie (Armidale-Bonny Miss) was successful from Peppercorns (Strategic-Pepperpot) bred by Woodlands Stud with Rosaceous (General Nediym-Rancho Rose) in third place.

 

A second placing for TBNSW members in Race 6 the Honda Accord Plate.  Silk and Money (Frisco View(USA)-Seen Before) won from Mimzical (El Moxie(USA)-Beautiful Mimzar) bred by Emirates Park Pty Limited with Bouchette (Canny Lad-Bonne Bouche) third.

 

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle when Cataclysm scored in Race 7 the Strathfield Plate.  Cataclysm (Marauding(NZ)-Chaparra) bred by Woodlands Stud was too strong for Centre Fire (Bite the Bullet(USA)-Flaming Ambition) with Chester County (Hennessy(USA)-Quinsigimond(GB)) in third place.

 

A third placing for TBNSW members in Race 8 the Emirates Plate.  My Czech Chick (Marwina-Likes Her Tucker) won from Millenium Charm (Charnwood Forest(IRE)-Zoffany’s Glow) with Fiammarosa (Danehill(USA)-Shindig(NZ)) bred by Mrs S E Suduk in third position.

 

TBNSW members finished the day in the winner’s circle in Race 9 the Autism Association of NSW Plate when Zarouk won.  Zarouk (Last Tycoon(IRE)-Pleasure Cruise) bred by Baerami Thoroughbreds was too good for Main Beach (Belong to Me(USA)-On the Beach(NZ)) with Sin Trail (Catrail(USA)-Chessin) third.

 

In Brisbane

Doomben was the venue in Brisbane for an eight event card on Saturday.  TBNSW members recorded a winner and 2 third placings on the day.

 

A third placing for TBNSW members in Race 4 the Ipswich City F&M Handicap.  Golden Snitch (Unbridled’s Song(USA)- Sydney ’s Spy) was successful from Sheer Devotion (Celestial Dancer(IRE)-No Sacrifice) in second place and With My (Covetous-Spectacular Gift(USA)) bred by Ruane Menangle in third position.

 

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle in Race 6 the Ross Llewellyn Motors Open Handicap when Stormy Joe saluted.  Stormy Joe (Hurricane Sky-Una Donna(NZ))  bred by Dr J D Woolridge was too good for Alfonso (Sequalo-Raespell) with Classic Karla (Kala Town-Sports Classic) third.

 

A third placing for TBNSW members in Race 7 the QLD Group Handicap.  Juggling Time (Jugah(USA)-Biding Time) won from Forest Jim(NZ)(Grosvenor(NZ)-Skylarking) with Noble Kaaptive (Kaaptive Edition(NZ)-Cup Cake(NZ)) bred by Cescastle Pty Limited in third place

 

WEEKEND RACING - 01/11/03

Black Type Racing came to the fore this weekend with the opening day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival.  Flemington was the venue for the Group 1 Victoria Derby, the Group 1 Mackinnon Stakes, the Group 1 Salinger Stakes, the Group 2 Wakeful Stakes, the Group 2 Peters Classic, the Group 2 SAAB Quality, the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes, the Group 3 L’Oreal Paris Plate and the Group 3 Yallambee Stud Stakes.

 

TBNSW members were successful in the Group 2 Wakeful Stakes and the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes.

 

In Melbourne

Flemington was the venue for black type racing in Melbourne on Saturday with the running of the Group 1 Victoria Derby, the Group 1 Mackinnon Stakes, the Group 1 Salinger Stakes, the Group 2 Wakeful Stakes, the Group 2 Peters Classic, the Group 2 SAAB Quality, the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes, the Group 3 L’Oreal Paris Plate and the Group 3 Yallambee Stud Stakes. TBNSW members recorded 2 winners (G2 & G3), 2 second placings and 3 third placings on the day.

 

TBNSW members were off to a flying start when Sir Dex saluted in Race 1 the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes.  Sir Dex (Dexter(GB)-Amwaj) bred by Emirates Park Pty Limited was too good for Tchaikovsky (Tale of the Cat(USA)-Zorina(USA)) with Sandy River (Desert Prince(IRE)-Missing Sheets) third.

 

Race 2 on the program was the Group 3 L’Oreal Paris Plate which was taken out by Abdullah (Desert Sun(GB)-Replicate) from Critical List (Danehill(USA)-Verocative) with Bronc (Distorted Humor(USA)-Flurry’s Autumn) third.

 

Second and third placings for TBNSW members in Race 3 the Group 2 SAAB Quality.  Big Pat (Full and By(NZ)-Put In Place(NZ)) scored from Fawaz (Secret Savings(USA)-Gulab) bred by Emirates Park Pty Limited with Dance on Wood (Woodman(USA)-Kirov Dancer(NZ)) bred by Mr J M Ryan in third position.

 

The Group 2 Peters Classic was Race 4 on the program and it was taken out by Zanna(NZ)(Pentire(GB)-Posing(NZ)) from Infinite Grace (Prince of Birds(USA)-Infinite Charm) with Mrs Tendulkar (Luskin Star-Saving(NZ)) third.

 

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle as well as providing the third placing in Race 5 the Group 2 Wakeful Stakes.  Timbourina (Timber Country(USA)-Valourina) bred by Mr S F Johnson was successful from Special Harmony (Spinning World(USA)-Marooned Lady) with Dane Belltar (Danewin-Ameerat-Blaadi) bred by Emirates Park Pty Limited in third place.

 

One of the highlights of the day was the Group 1 Victoria Derby, Race 6 on the card which was taken out by Elvstroem (Danehill(USA)-Circles of Gold) from Kempinsky (Danehill(USA)-Tristalove(NZ)) with Our Bahare(NZ)(Bahare(USA)-Oenology(NZ)) third.

 

Race 7 on the card was the Group 1 Mackinnon Stakes.  Casual Pass (Snippets-Raami’s Magic) led all the way to score from Pentastic (Pentire(GB)-Miss Minden) with Fields of Omagh (Rubiton-Finneto) in third place.

 

A second placing for TBNSW members in Race 8 the Group 1 Salinger Stakes.  Ancient Song (Canny Lad-Hello Lottie) was successful from Into the Night (Rhythm(USA)-Marshow) bred by Mr G Harvey with Blessum (Umatilla(NZ)-My Madonna) third.

 

TBNSW members finished the day with a third placing in Race 9 the Group 3 Yallambee Stud Stakes.  Scenic Peak (Scenic(IRE)-Chesapeake) scored narrowly from Lord Volksraad(NZ)(Volksraad(GB)-Morangie(NZ)) with Shogun Lodge (Grand Lodge(USA)-Pride of Tahnee) bred by Mr I V Millard and Mrs A Millard in third position.

 

In Sydney

Rosehill Gardens was the venue for racing in Sydney on Saturday with nine events on the program.   TBNSW members recorded 2 winners, 3 second placings and 5 third placings on the day.

 

TBNSW members opened their account with a third placing in Race 1 the St Johns Park Bowling Club Handicap.  Subreilly(NZ)(O’Reilly(NZ)-Subpoena) won from Wenceslas Square (Marju(IRE)-Emmy B(USA)) with St Pirian (Danehill(USA)-Duchy of Cornwall(USA)) bred by Swettenham Stud in third position.

 

A second placing for TBNSW members in Race 2 the Ronald Coles Investment Art Handicap.  Stolen Glances (Fuji Kiseki(JPN)-Indulged) was successful from Hasty Belle (Bite the Bullet(USA)-Rivella(USA)) bred by Mr T P Burke with Mooktanus (Mookta-Satanus) third.

 

A third placing for TBNSW members in Race 3 the Tile Mega Mart Handicap.  Bella Sunday (Sunday Silence(USA)-Singles Bar) won from Zinzin (Celtic Swing(GB)-Causette) with Raid and Pillage (Marauding(NZ)- Southern Royale ) bred by Mr G J Fischl in third place.

 

A great result for TBNSW members in Race 4 the Allphones – We’ve Got It All Handicap providing the trifecta in the event.  Dainty Deb (Danehill(USA)-Peggy Ann(NZ)) bred by Mr K T Jones Jnr was successful from Rosmarino (Langfuhr(CAN)-Amaia) bred by Dr R J and Mrs J L Slack-Smith with Ausbred Blue ( Bluebird(USA)-Stormy Zephyr) bred by Mr C J Lawlor in third position.

 

Second and third placings for TBNSW members in Race 6 the Matchmaster Handicap.  Romar Dale (Armidale-Rose of Belldale) scored from Magsaya (Danehill Dancer(IRE)-Priceless Joy) bred by Gooree Park Stud with Fixated (Canny Lad-Infatuated) bred by Woodland Stud in third place.

 

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle when Perance saluted in Race 7 the Coldwell Handicap.   Perance (Air de France( USA )-What a Ripper) bred by Mr G Harvey was too good for Ours (Our Maizcay-Forbidden Love) with Lachaim (Euclase-Circle of Life) third.

 

TBNSW members recorded second and third placings in Race 8 the Furniture Warehouse Handicap.  This Manshood (Manshood(CAN)-Our Gilded Lily) won from Vital Agreement (Belong to Me( USA )-Vital Consent) bred by Gooree Park Stud with Spinning Con (Spinning World(USA)-Sounds Positive(NZ)) bred by Mr B J and Mrs P J MacDonald in third position.

 

In Brisbane
