WEEKEND RACING - 26 & 27/09/03

Another wonderful weekend of black type racing.  Royal Randwick was the venue in Sydney on Saturday for the Group 1 George Main Stakes, the Group 2 Stan Fox Stakes, the Group 3 Colin Stephens Quality, the Group 3 Bill Ritchie Handicap, the listed Reginald Allen Quality, the listed Dulcify Quality and the listed The Nivison.  Moonee Valley was the venue in Melbourne on Friday night for the running of the Group 2 Bill Stutt Stakes while Belmont Park in Perth hosted the listed Birthday Stakes.

 

TBNSW members were successful in the Group 1 George Main Stakes, the Group 2 Stan Fox Stakes, the Group 3 Colin Stephens Quality, the listed Reginald Allen Quality and the listed The Nivison.

 

In Sydney

Royal Randwick was the venue for black type racing in Sydney on Saturday with the running of the Group 1 George Main Stakes, the Group 2 Stan Fox Stakes, the Group 3 Colin Stephens Quality, the Group 3 Bill Ritchie Handicap, the listed Reginald Allen Quality, the listed Dulcify Quality and the listed The Nivison on an nine event card.  It was a fantastic day for TBNSW members who recorded 7 winners (including a G1, a G2, a G3 & 2 LR), 5 second placings and 3 third placings on the day.

 

TBNSW members were off to a flying start providing the quinella in Race 1 the Safilo Eyewear Handicap.  Taikun (Anabba(USA)-Tyrises) bred by Mr J B Cummings was successful from Freeze (Marscay-Snowdrift(FR)) bred by Stratheden Stud with Imperalism (Flying Spur-Lady Kariba) third.

 

A second placing for TBNSW members in Race 2 the listed Dulcify Quality.  Al Jameel(NZ)(Tale of the Cat(USA)-Canny Asset) won from L’Espalier (Marscay-Pretty Buttons) bred by Mr R A Ferguson with Superior Sateen (Danehill(USA)-Shantha’s Choice) third.

 

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle as well as providing the third placing in Race 3 the listed Reginald Allen Quality.  Santissima (Quest for Fame(GB)-Sashed(NZ)) bred by Woodlands Stud was too good for Touched by God (Sunday Silence(USA)-Sally Klaire) with Aim for Gold (End Sweep(USA)-Young Vic(GB)) bred by Mr G J Fischl in third position.

 

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle in Race 4 when Ambulance saluted in the Group 2 Stan Fox Stakes.  Ambulance (Grand Lodge(USA)-Emergency) bred by Woodlands Stud finished powerfully to score from Classy Dane (Danewin-Ranzest) with Hasna (Snippets-They Say(USA)) third.

 

A quinella for TBNSW members in Race 5 the Group 3 Colin Stephen Quality.  Outlaws (Brocco(USA)-Balmeressa(NZ)) bred by Woodlands Stud was successful from Fawaz (Secret Savings(USA)-Gulab) bred by Emirates Park Pty Limited with Dashing Away(NZ)(Vice Regal(NZ)-Miss Marple(NZ)) third.

 

The highlight of the meeting was Race 6 on the card the Group 1 George Main Stakes run over 1600 metres and it was a fantastic result for TBNSW members who provided the trifecta in the event.  Lonhro (Octagonal(NZ)-Shadea(NZ)) bred by Woodlands Stud was too good for Grand Armee (Hennessy(USA)-Tambour) bred by Newhaven Park Stud with Defier (Dehere(USA)-Lilande) bred by Bhima Pty Limited in third position.

 

Race 7 on the program was the Group 3 Bill Ritchie Handicap which was taken out by Zabarra(NZ)(Zabeel(NZ)-Vaindarra) from Britt’s Best(NZ)(Danehill(USA)-Bal Des Sirenes(IRE)) with Forum Floozie (NZ)(Danasinga-Flying Floozie(NZ)) third.

 

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle as well as providing the third placing in Race 8 the listed The Nivison.  Lucida (Danehill(USA)-Peruzzi(NZ)) bred by Mrs S E Suduk was too good for Fair Embrace (Strategic-Janelle Again(NZ)) with Fatoon (Snaadee(USA)-Elated Lady) bred by Emirates Park Pty Limited in third position.

 

TBNSW members finished the day with a quinella in Race 9 the Capella Kensington Trasitional Plate.  Salgado (Danewin-Slight Chance(NZ)) bred by Hobartville Stud was successful from Poetic Papal (Royal Troubador(NZ)-Power of Locharber) bred by Locharber Stud with Schahriar (Ashkalani(IRE)-Laura’s Express) in third place.

 

In Melbourne 26.09.03

Moonee Valley was the venue for black type racing in Melbourne on Friday night with seven events on the program with the highlight being the Group 2 Bill Stutt Stakes.  Unfortunately TBNSW members were unsuccessful on the night.

 

The highlight of the meeting was Race 4 on the program the Group 2 Bill Stutt Stakes run over 1600 metres for three-year-olds.  Casual Pass (Snippets-Raami’s Magic) was successful from Special Harmony (Spinning World(USA)-Marooned Lady) with Face Value (Red Ransom(USA)-Freckled Face) in third position.

 

In Perth

Belmont Park was the venue for black type racing in Perth on Saturday with the running of the listed Birthday Stakes.  Cento (Hideyoshi(USA)-Illuvia) was too good for Kame’s Hope (Fimiston-Star of Remlap) with Shane’s Boy (Dauberval(USA)-Noble Girl) in third place.

 

In Brisbane

Doomben was the venue in Brisbane for an eight event card on Saturday.  TBNSW members recorded a winner, 2 second placings and 3 third placings on the day.

 

A third placing for TBNSW members in Race 3 the Australian Company Incorporated Handicap.  Equalos (Sequalo-Lady Minto) won from Levante (Hurricane Sky-Pseudo) with Huey (Lake Coniston(IRE)-Absurd) bred by Woodlands Stud in third position.

 

A great result for TBNSW members in Race 4 the Carpet One Handicap providing the trifecta in the event.  Palidamah (Mukaddamah(USA)-Palixandre) bred by Miss A O Raymond was successful from Make Me a Miracle (Flying Spur-Commercial Choice(USA)) bred by Mr S F Johnson with Tahitian Star (Skilful Star-Hula Gal) bred by Cescastle Pty Limited in third place.

 

A third placing for TBNSW members in Race 5 the Classic Blinds Handicap.  Road to Sea (Sea Road-Picco’s Dancer) scored from Tyalgum Pop(NZ)(Touching Wood(USA)-Zamani(NZ)) with Trailer (Catrail(USA)-Corn) bred by Bhima Pty Limited in third position.

 

A second placing for TBNSW members in Race 7 the Forest Place Retirement Villages Handicap.  Perle D’Or (Archway(IRE)-Solar Dragon) was successful from Experience (Quest for Fame(GB)-Trousseau) bred by Woodlands Stud with The Ginza (Varick(USA)-Go Prego) third.

 

WEEKEND RACING - 20 & 21/09/03

A bumper weekend of black type racing in Sydney and Melbourne. Rosehill was the venue in Sydney on Saturday for the Group 2 Hill Stakes, the Group 2 Gloaming Stakes, the Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes, the Group 2 Shannon Stakes, the listed Heritage Stakes and the listed Starlight Stakes.  Caulfield was the venue in Melbourne on Sunday for the running of the Group 1 Underwood Stakes, the Group 1 Dubai Racing Club Cup, the Group 3 Tranquil Star Stakes, the Group 3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude, the listed Naturalism Stakes and the listed Emirates Racing Association Stakes.

 

TBNSW members were successful in the Group 2 Hill Stakes, the Group 2 Gloaming Stakes and the Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes.

 

In Sydney

Rosehill Gardens was the venue for black type racing in Sydney on Saturday with the running of the Group 2 Hill Stakes, the Group 2 Gloaming Stakes, the Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes, the Group 2 Shannon Stakes, the listed Heritage Stakes and the listed Starlight Stakes on an eight event card.  TBNSW members recorded 4 winners (including 3 Group 2 wins), a second placing and a third placing on the day.

 

TBNSW members were off to a flying start when Fawaz saluted in Race 1 the Cherry Coke Handicap.  Fawaz (Secret Savings(USA)-Gulab) bred by Emirates Park Pty Limited was too good for Kreisler Mirage(NZ)(Kreisler(IRE)-Imposing Belle(NZ)) with Kingston Classic(NZ)(Kingsttenham(USA)-Turf Classic(NZ)) third.

 

Race 3 on the program was the listed Heritage Stakes which was taken out by Hasna (Snippets-They Say(USA)) from La Reata (Flying Spur-Quetta) with Sticks ‘n’ Stones (Bigstone(IRE)-Bon Matin) in third place.

 

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle in Race 4 the Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes when Shamekha scored.  Shamekha (Secret Savings(USA)-Lifetime Story) bred by Emirates Park Pty Limited was too strong for Unearthly(NZ)(Zabeel(NZ)-Snippets Crown) with Miss Ivy(NZ)(Gold Brose-Midori Splice) in third position.

 

The winner’s circle again for TBNSW members in Race 5 the Group 2 Hill Stakes when Excellerator won.  Excellerator (Marscay-Artless) bred by Bhima Pty Limited was successful from Platinum Scissors (Danehill(USA)-Shantha’s Choice) with Carnegie Express(NZ)(Carnegie(IRE)-Honeymoon Express(NZ)) third.

 

Race 6 on the card was the Group 2 Shannon Stakes and it was taken out by the NSW bred Sportsman (Supremo(USA)-Professionelle(NZ)) from Amex (Success Express(USA)-Spriggy) with Nips (Snippets-No Finer) in third place.

 

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle was well as providing the third placing in Race 7 the Group 2 Gloaming Stakes.  Tsuimai (Thunder Gulch( USA )-Triscay) bred by Bhima Pty Limited was successful from Terracotta Bay (Langfuhr(CAN)-Helen’s Bay) with Square One (Lake Coniston(IRE)-Bering Straight(NZ)) bred by Neville Begg Investments Pty Limited in third position.

 

TBNSW members finished the day with a second placing in Race 8 the listed Starlight Stakes.  Star of Florida (Telesto(NZ)-Try It On) won from Academe (Royal Academy(USA)-Vionnet) bred by Mr O P Tait and Mrs S S Nivison with Empire (St Covet-Lowan’s Image) third.

 

In Melbourne 20.09.03

Sandown Lakeside was the venue for an eight event program in Melbourne on Saturday. TBNSW members recorded a winner and a second placing on the day.

 

A quinella for TBNSW members in Race 8 the Courtza Super Vobis Handicap.  Beautiful Gem (Peintre Celebre(USA)-Just Blooming) bred by Gooree Park Stud was successful from Songs of Vienna (Umatilla(NZ)-Mrs Bold) bred by Mr R A Ferguson with Regal Summer (Generous(IRE)-True Summer) in third place.

 

In Melbourne 21.09.03

Caulfield was the venue for black type racing in Melbourne on Sunday with eight events on the program with the highlights being the Group 1 Underwood Stakes, the Group 1 Dubai Racing Club Cup, the Group 3 Tranquil Star Stakes, the Group 3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude, the listed Naturalism Stakes and the listed Emirates Racing Association Stakes.  TBNSW members recorded 2 second placings and a third placing on the day

 

Race 3 on the program was the Group 3 Jumeirah International Stakes (Tranquil Star Stakes) which was taken out by Hinting (Danzero-Won’t Tell) from Ashenti (Ashkalani(IRE)-Toneya) with Portland Damask (Peintre Celebre(USA)-Rose of Portland) third.

 

A second placing for TBNSW members in Race 4 the Group 3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude.  The NSW bred Elvstroem (Danehill(USA)-Circles of Gold) was successful from In Top Swing (Beautiful Crown(USA)-Holbrook Lass) bred by Mr A J Bowcock with Dance Up (Anabaa(USA)-Party Dancer) in third place.

 

Race 5 on the program was the Group 1 Dubai Racing Club Cup which was taken out most impressively by the NSW bred Exceed and Excel (Danehill(USA)-Patrona(USA)) from Reactive (Geiger Counter(USA)-Victory River) with Titanic Jack (Encosta de Lago-Gold Tunic(USA)) in third position.

 

Second and third placings for TBNSW members in Race 6 the Group 1 Underwood Stakes.  Mummify (Jeune(GB)-Cleopatra’s Girl) won from Grey Song (Unbridled’s Song(USA)-Tonzazip(NZ)) bred by John Stuart Investments with Ain’t Seen Nothin’ (Nothin’ Leica Dane-Icecapade) bred by Mr J Ovenstone in third place.

 

The next race on the card was Race 7 the listed Dubai International Racing Carnival Handicap (Naturalism Stakes).  Rose Archway (Archway(IRE)-Nazaan(NZ)) scored from Another Warrior (Brave Warrior-Kate Be Good) with Vicksburg (Thunder Gulch(USA)-Free Success(NZ)) third.

 

The last race on the program was Race 8 the listed Emirates Racing Association Stakes which was taken out by Lovely Jubly (Lion Hunter-Jaboulet(NZ)) from Infinite Grace (Prince of Birds(USA)-Infinite Charm) with Ashtaroth (Ashkalani(IRE)-Make the Grade) in third position.

 

In Brisbane

Eagle Farm was the venue in Brisbane for an eight event card on Saturday.  TBNSW members recorded 2 second placings and 3 third placings on the day.

 

TBNSW members opened their account with a second placing in Race 1 the Aqua On Adelaide Handicap.  Captain Zigzag (Our Maizcay-Ballard) won from Trailer (Catrail(USA)-Corn) bred by Bhima Pty Limited with Eyes Forever (Forever Regal(CAN)-Miss Riversleigh) third.

 

Second and third placings for TBNSW members in Race 2 the Beenleigh Chamber of Commerce Handicap.  Up the Bid (Unbid Slam-Special Angie) was successful from Rahera(USA)(Rahy(USA)-Beribboned(USA)) bred by Gooree Pastoral Company with Bails (Vettori(IRE)-News Box(NZ)) bred by Baramul Stud in third place.

 

A third placing for TBNSW members in Race 5 the River 94.9 The Hit Music Station Handicap.  Distinctive Dancer (Distinctly North(USA)-Cabaret Dancer) won from Irish Bunny (Tarsho(IRE)-Easter Rose) with Gold Eye (Eagle Eyed(USA)-Star Gold) bred by Ramsey Pastoral Company Pty Limited in third position.

 

TBNSW members finished the day with a third placing in Race 8 the Julianna The Psexy Psychic Handicap.  Good Timing (Palace Music(USA)-Empress Regina) won from Star of Telesto (Telesto(NZ)-Kaaptree(NZ)) with Star Sensation (Zeditave-Maya) bred by Springdale Stud in third place.

 

WEEKEND RACING - 13/09/03

This weekend black type racing was held at Moonee Valley, Rosehill, Morphettville and Kalgoorlie. Moonee Valley was the venue in Melbourne for the Group 1 Manikato Stakes, the Group 2 John F Feehan Stakes, the Group 3 Colin Hayes Stakes, the Group 3 WH Stocks Stakes and the listed JRA Cup. Rosehill was the venue in Sydney for the Group 2 Theo Marks Stakes, the Group 3 Kingston Town Stakes and the Group 3 Research Stakes. Morphettville in Adelaide hosted the Group 3 Spring Stakes and the listed Morphettville Guineas whilst Kalgoorlie in Western Australia was the venue for the listed Kalgoorlie Cup.

 

TBNSW members were successful in the Group 1 Manikato Stakes, the Group 3 Colin Hayes Stakes and the Group 3 Kingston Town Stakes.

 

In Melbourne

A second placing for TBNSW members in Race 2 the Collex Onyx Handicap. Pretty Penny (Encosta de Lago-Tonti) was successful from Frasassas (Marauding(NZ)-Chaparra) bred by Woodlands Stud with Swinging Babe (Encosta de Lago-Slashing Sort) third.

 

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle as well as providing the third placing in Race 3 the Group 3 C S Hayes Stakes. Youth (Quest for Fame(GB)-Versatile) bred by Woodlands Stud was too good for Fragmentation (Snippets-Southern Sprinter) with Happy Strike (Gold Fever(USA)-Rich Haul) bred by Reavill No 4 Partnership in third position.

 

A third placing for TBNSW members in Race 4 the listed JRA Cup. General Booth(NZ)(Entrepreneur(GB)-War Cry(NZ)) scored from Flying Chance (Flying Spur-Random Chance) with Atin (Belong to Me(USA)-Navy Lemoore(USA)) bred by Gooree Park Stud in third place.

 

A second placing for TBNSW members in Race 6 the Group 2 John F Feehan Stakes. NSW bred Natural Blitz (Dehere(USA)-Mohave Dancer(NZ)) was successful from Vocabulary (Encosta de Lago-Lady Liguist) bred by Mr P R Stewart and Miss B E Woodford-Smith with De Gaulle Lane(NZ)(The Commander(NZ)-D’Accord(NZ)) third.

 

The main event on the card was Race 7 the Group 1 Manikato Stakes run over 1200 metres and it was success for TBNSW members when Spinning Hill saluted. Spinning Hill (Dolphin Street(FR)-Incline) bred by Mr O P Tait and Mrs S S Nivison made in consecutive wins in the event when she scored from True Glo (Brief Truce(USA)-Torelgo) with The Big Chill(NZ)(O’Reilly(NZ)-Icy Calm(NZ)) third.

 

A second placing for TBNSW members in Race 8 the Group 3 WH Stocks Stakes. NSW bred Sunday Joy (Sunday Silence(JPN-Joie Denise) was successful from Liberty Rose (Royal Academy(USA)-Cherry Garden(NZ)) bred by Swettenham Stud with Monde Special (Monde Bleu(GB)-Special Black) in third place.

 

In Sydney

Rosehill Gardens was the venue for black type racing in Sydney on Saturday with the running of the Group 2 Theo Marks Stakes, the Group 3 Kingston Town Stakes and the Group 3 Research Stakes on an eight event card. TBNSW members recorded 3 winners (including a Group 3 success), 2 second placings and 2 third placings on the day.

 

TBNSW members opened their account in good style providing the winner and third placing in Race 1 the Blue Haven Pools & Spas Handicap. Santissima (Quest for Fame(GB)-Sashed(NZ)) bred by Woodlands Stud scored from Flying Formality (Bureaucracy(NZ)-Night Lark) with Skittles (Quest for Fame(GB)-Regina Madre) bred by Mr G Harvey in third position.

 

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle in Race 3 the Nivea Visage Handicap when Durrah scored. Durrah (Langfuhr(CAN)-Lady Delia(CAN)) bred by Emirates Park Pty Limited was too good for Sabino Canyon (Danehill(USA)-Cinnamon(GB)) with Interbank (Integra-Red Kellick) third.

 

The first of the black type races, Race 4 the Group 3 Kingston Town Stakes, saw TBNSW members in the winner’s circle when Ariante saluted. Ariante (Filante(NZ)-Arietta) bred by Mr R N Moclair was too strong for Dashing Away(NZ)(Vice Regal(NZ)-Miss Marple(NZ)) with Mrs Tendulkar (Luskin Star-Saving(NZ)) in third place.

 

A second placing for TBNSW members in Race 5 the Tuesdays’ Slave Millinery Handicap. Galante(NZ)(Carnegie(IRE)-Carmel Valley) won from Red Hannigan (Dehere(USA)-Vital Consent) bred by Gooree Park Stud with Heeby Reiby (Switch in Time(IRE)-Frosty Rose(NZ)) third.

 

The main event on the program was Race 6 the Group 2 Theo Marks Stakes run over 1300 metres and TBNSW members provided the second and third placings in the event. Fiery Venture (Thunder Gulch(USA)-Flying Venture) was successful from Grand Armee (Hennessy(USA)-Tambour) bred by Newhaven Park Stud with Osca Warrior (Zeditave-Fionian) bred by Mr and Mrs N R Johnson in third position.

 

Race 7 on the program was the Group 3 Research Stakes which was taken out by the NSW bred Classy Dane (Danewin-Ranzest) from Forum Floozie(NZ)(Danasinga-Flying Floozie(NZ)) with Gold Lottey (Encosta de Lago-Lottey) in third place.

 

In Adelaide

Morphettville was the venue for black type racing in Adelaide on Saturday with the running of the Group 3 Spring Stakes and the listed Morphettville Guineas.

 

The first of the black type events was the listed Morphettville Guineas for three-year-old fillies run over 1600 metres. Harley Ma (Shovog-Marjoyan) was successful from the NSW bred Song of the Sun (Desert Sun(GB)-Song of Norway) with Old Friends Gold(NZ)(Fraar(USA)-New Gold Dream) in third place.

 

The last of the black type races was the Group 3 Spring Stakes run over 1200 metres which was taken out by Squillani (Shagny(USA)-Zephyr Note) from Nadema (Blevic-Nema Dalan) with Lawson’s Storm (Bellotto(USA)-Poet’s Breeze) third.

 

In Western Australia

Kalgoorlie was the venue for black type racing in Western Australia on Saturday with the running of the listed Kalgoorlie Gold Cup which was taken out by Czariffic (Czardas-Lady Aboard) from Kiwi Hombre(NZ)(Rodrigo De Triano(USA)-Madam Chanel(NZ)) with Priceless Matt (Pricelessly(USA)-Dancilla) in third place.

 

In Brisbane

Eagle Farm was the venue in Brisbane for an eight event card on Saturday. TBNSW members recorded 2 winners and a second placing on the day.

 

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle in Race 4 the Machete Handicap when Jeremiad saluted. Jeremiad (Octagonal(NZ)-Lament) bred by Woodlands Stud was too good for Motivate (Splendent(USA)-Brianza(NZ)) with Warrior Trader (Fuji Kiseki(JPN)-Shared Destinies(USA)) third.

 

A second placing for TBNSW members in Race 5 the 2003 Apprentices’ Cup. Inner City (Zeditave-Janole) won from Sam’s Dream (Al Jaasi-Tracey’s Best) bred by Mr W J Beale with Our Blueberry Hill (Celestial Dancer(IRE)-So She Sleeps) in third place.

 

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle in Race 6 the Shift Along Handicap when Sir Bisc scored. Sir Bisc (Sir Laurence(NZ)-Melange) bred by Miss C Homann and Mr N Wagstaffe was too good for Penola (King Ivor-Poetic Vale) with Hass Linc (Al Hareb(USA)-Our Ting) in third position.

 

WEEKEND RACING - 06/09/03

This weekend black type racing was held at Flemington, Randwick, Morphettville and Kalgoorlie. Flemington was the venue in Melbourne for the Group 2 Ascot Vale Stakes, the Group 2 Craiglee Stakes, the Group 3 Bobbie Lewis Quality, the listed TEAC Digital Stakes and the listed Let’s Elope Stakes. Royal Randwick was the venue in Sydney for the Group 2 Chelmsford Stakes, the Group 3 Ming Dynasty Quality, the Group 3 Furious Stakes, the Group 3 Roman Consul Stakes, the Group 3 Tramway Handicap and the listed Tattersalls Plate. Morphettville in Adelaide hosted the listed Penny Edition Stakes whilst Kalgoorlie in Western Australia was the venue for the listed Boulder Cup.

 

TBNSW members were successful in the Group 2 Chelmsford Stakes, the Group 3 Furious Stakes, the listed TEAC Digital Stakes and the listed Let’s Elope Stakes.

 

In Melbourne

Flemington was the venue for black type racing in Melbourne on Saturday with nine events on the program with the highlights being the Group 2 Ascot Vale Stakes, the Group 2 Craiglee Stakes, the Group 3 Bobbie Lewis Quality, the listed TEAC Digital Stakes and the listed Let’s Elope Stakes. A great result for TBNSW members in Race 4 the listed Let’s Elope Stakes providing the quinella in the event. Ain’t Seen Nothin’ (Nothin Leica Dane-Icecapade) bred by Mr J Ovenstone was successful from Classic Patches (My Patriarch(GB)-Classic Meeting(NZ)) bred by Mr B M and Mrs M B Clarke with Reactive (Geiger Counter(USA)-Victory River) third.

 

Race 5 on the program was the Group 2 Ascot Vale Stakes and it was taken out by Scaredee Cat(NZ)(Tale of the Cat(USA)-Last Lady(NZ)) from Lago Delight (Encosta De Lago-Sweet Delight) with Dilly Dally (Rubiton-Faricca) third.

 

The Group 2 Craiglee Stakes run over 1600 metres was Race 6 on the program. Pentastic (Pentire(GB)-Miss Minden) scored from Walk On Air (Eire(NZ)-Ride the Wind(NZ)) with Mummify (Jeune(GB)-Cleopatra’s Girl) in third place.

 

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle in Race 7 the listed TEAC Digital Stakes when Adolescence saluted. Adolescence (Grand Lodge(USA)-Mademoiselle) bred by Woodlands Stud was too good for Arena Valadora (Flying Spur-Palm Beach(ARG)) with Another Warrior (Brave Warrior-Kate Be Good) third.

 

Race 8 was the Group 3 Bobby Lewis Quality and it was taken out by Titanic Jack (Encosta De Lago-Gold Tunic(USA)) from the NSW bred Bomber Bill (Air de France(USA)-Lady Special) with The Big Chill(NZ)(O’Reilly(NZ)-Icy Calm(NZ)) third.

 

TBNSW members finished the day with a third placing in Race 9 the Spring is the Season Handicap. Tumeric (Old Spice-Goldie’s Best) won from Pinstripe(NZ)(Flying Pegasus(IRE)-Silk Pyjamas(NZ)) with Atin (Belong To Me(USA)-Navy Lemoore(USA)) bred by Gooree Park Stud in third position.

 

In Sydney

Royal Randwick was the venue for black type racing in Sydney on Saturday with the running of the Group 2 Chelmsford Stakes, the Group 3 Ming Dynasty Quality, the Group 3 Furious Stakes, the Group 3 Roman Consul Stakes, the Group 3 Tramway Handicap and the listed Tattersalls Plate on an eight event card. TBNSW members recorded 2 winners (a Group 2 and a Group 3) and 5 third placings on the day.

 

The opening event on the card was the Group 3 Ming Dynasty Quality Handicap and it was taken out by Play Around (Canny Lad-Dancing Jester) from Terracotta Bay (Langfuhr(CAN)-Helen’s Bay) with Allgunadoit(NZ)(Haayil-Saving Grace(NZ)) third.

 

A third placing for TBNSW members in Race 3 the listed Tattersalls Plate. Hy Fuji (Fuji Kiseki(JPN)-Hysterical(NZ)) won from Go Volare(NZ)(Mi Preferido(USA)-Madame Bijou(NZ)) with Daneborogh (Danehill(USA)-Kingston Red) bred by Pitt Place Pty Limited in third position.

 

TBNSW members recorded a third placing in Race 4 the Group 3 Roman Consul Stakes. Exceed and Excel (Danehill(USA)-Patrona(USA)) was successful from Hasna (Snippets-They Say(USA)) with Ambulance (Grand Lodge(USA)-Emergency) bred by Woodlands Stud in third place.

 

A third placing for TBNSW members in Race 5 the Group 3 Tramway Handicap. Sportsman (Supremo(USA)-Professionelle(NZ)) won from Britt’s Best(NZ)(Danehill(USA)-Bal Des Sirenes(IRE)) with Boreale (Octagonal(NZ)-Spring Thaw(USA)) bred by Woodlands Stud in third position.

 

The main event on the card was Race 6 the Group 2 Chelmsford Stakes run over 1600 metres and TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle as well as providing the third placing in the event. Lonhro (Octagonal(NZ)-Shadea(NZ)) bred by Woodlands Stud was too strong for Platinum Scissors (Danehill(USA)-Shantha’s Choice) with Excellerator (Marscay-Artless) bred by Bhima Pty Limited in third place.

 

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle as well as providing a third placing in Race 7 the Group 3 Furious Stakes. Shamekha (Secret Savings(USA)-Lifetime Story) bred by Emirates Park Pty Limited scored from Regimental Gal (General Nediym-Hallaya) with Spurcent (Flying Spur-San Century(NZ)) bred by Mr K Rose in third position.

 

In Adelaide

Morphettville was the venue for black type racing in Adelaide on Saturday with the running of the listed Penny Edition Stakes run over 1600 metres. Aldarch (Archway(IRE)-Estuary Lass(NZ)) was too good for Terminus Prince (Prince of Birds(USA)-Flying Zone) with Ottobello (Bellotto(USA)-Olivia’s Delight) in third place.

 

In Western Australia

Kalgoorlie was the venue for black type racing in Western Australia on Saturday with the running of the listed Boulder Cup which was taken out by Space Age(NZ)(Sky Chase(NZ)-Regal Jo(NZ)) from Priceless Matt (Pricelessly(USA)-Dancilla) with Prince of Pop (Raveneaux-Queen of Pop) third.

 

In Brisbane

Doomben was the venue in Brisbane for an eight event card on Saturday. TBNSW members recorded 2 winners and 2 second placings on the day.

 

TBNSW members were off to a great start when Dancing Hill scored in Race 1 the Peter Waldon Handicap. Dancing Hill (Danehill Dancer(IRE)-Honiara Lady) bred by Baerami Thoroughbreds was too good for Miss Eleni (Ravada-Grecian Gold) with Cotton Brae (Clang-Bamboozle) third.

 

A quinella for TBNSW members in Race 7 the Triple M Handicap. Jeremiad (Octagonal(NZ)-Lament) bred by Woodlands Stud was successful from Rahera(USA)(Rahy(USA)-Beribboned(USA)) bred by Gooree Pastoral Company with Amalfi(NZ)(Carnegie(IRE)-Rationaire(NZ)) in third place.

 

A second placing for TBNSW members in Race 8 the Paddo Tavern Handicap. Sticks ‘n’ Stones (Bigstone(IRE)-Bon Matin) won from Gramercy (Quest for Fame(GB)-Dinna Fash) bred by Woodlands Stud with Jarabu (Miesque’s Son(USA)-Fine Intent) in third position.

 

WEEKEND RACING - 30/08/03

This weekend black type racing was held at Caulfield, Rosehill and Belmont. Caulfield was the venue in Melbourne for the Group 2 Memsie Stakes, the Group 3 HD McNeil Stakes and the listed Heatherlie Handicap. Rosehill Gardens was the venue in Sydney for the Group 3 Concorde Stakes, the listed Premier’s Cup and the listed Sheraco Stakes. Belmont Park in Perth was the venue for the listed Belmont Park Cup and the listed Farnley Stakes.

 

TBNSW members were successful in the Group 2 Memsie Stakes and the listed Premier’s Cup.

 

In Melbourne

Caufield was the venue for black type racing in Melbourne on Saturday with eight events on the program with the highlights being the Group 2 Memsie Stakes, the Group 3 HD McNeil Stakes and the listed Heatherlie Handicap. TBNSW members recorded a winner (Group 2), 3 second placings and a third placing on the day.

 

TBNSW members opened their account with a second placing in Race 1 the Caulfield Tabaret Handicap. Harley Ma (Shovog-Marjoyan) was successful from Tully Bellotto (Encounter-Queen Bellotto) bred by Mr DPR Esplin with Song of the Sun (Desert Sun(GB)-Son of Norway) third.

 

The listed Heatherlie Handicap run over 1700 metres, Race 3 on the program, was the first of the black type events for the day. Oamaru Storm (Royal Academy(USA)-Mamzelle Perdu) won from McHale(NZ)(Prince of Praise(NZ)-Pamposa(NZ)) with Storm Attack (Bluebird(USA)-Empress Lu(NZ)) third.

 

Race 4 on the program was the Group 3 HDF McNeil Stakes run over 1100 metres for three-year-olds and it was taken out by Cahuita (Encosta de Lago-Kinlochleven) from Cross Current (Keltrice-River Express) with Abdullah (Desert Sun(GB)-Replicate) third.

 

A great result for TBNSW members in the main event on the program, Race 5 the Group 2 Memsie Stakes run over 1400 metres providing the quinella in the event. Le Zagaletta (Last Tycoon(IRE)-Swiftsynd) bred by Bhima No 8 Breeding Partnership was successful from the ever consistent Super Elegant (Mister C(USA)-Ever Elegant) bred by Mr F Peisah with Out of Options (Stargazer(NZ)-Chosen Option) in third position.

 

Second and third placings for TBNSW members in Race 7 the Noel Rundle Tribute Handicap. C’Est Le Reve (Revoque(IRE)-Malayan) scored from Smytzer’s Shuffle (Woodman(USA)-Canny Lass) bred by Mrs S E Suduk and Mr J M Ryan with Kattavia (Grand Lodge(USA)-Kanacea(NZ)) bred by Mr M J and Mrs A E Nutman in third place.

 

 

In Sydney

Royal Randwick was the venue for black type racing in Sydney on Saturday with the running of the Group 3 Concorde Stakes, the listed Premier’s Cup and the listed Sheraco Stakes on an eight event card. TBNSW members recorded 3 winners (including a Listed Race) and a second placing on the day.

 

TBNSW members opened their account in the winner’s circle in Race 2 the Cadbury Roses Handicap when Sharp saluted. Sharp (Danzero-Snarl) bred by Mr A W Thompson was too good for Touched by God (Sunday Silence(USA)-Sally Klaire) with Marfickle (Maroof(USA)-Fickle Hostess) third.

 

The first of the black type races was Race 4 on the program the listed Sheraco Stakes which was taken out by Oomph (Flying Spur-Nobellotto) from Zakynthos Star (Dehere(USA)-Princess Zakynthos) with Covet Thee (St Covet-Peat’s Pride) third.

 

The Group 3 Concorde Stakes was Race 5 on the program and TBNSW members recorded a second placing in the event. Private Steer (Danehill Dancer(IRE)-Lisheenowen) was successful from Strabane (Rivotious(USA)-Controversial) bred by C & R Thurecht Pty Limited with Gullcatcher (Bite the Bullet(USA)-Galspray) in third place.

 

The highlight of the meeting was the inaugural running of the Tooheys New Golden Rose and TBNSW members found themselves in the winner’s circle when In Top Swing scored an impressive win. In Top Swing (Beautiful Crown(USA)-Holbrook Lass) bred by Mr A J Bowcock was much too good for Handsome Ransom (Red Ransom(USA)-Bianca Lancia(FR)) with Ashenti (Ashkalani(IRE)-Toneya) in third position.

 

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle again in Race 7 the listed Premier’s Cup when Domine saluted. Domine (Strategic-Hallelujah) bred by Woodlands Stud was too strong for Daniel’s The Man(NZ)(Touching Wood(USA)-Top Role(NZ)) with Go Ziggy(NZ)(Centaine-Wild Swan(NZ)) in third place.

 

 

In Perth

Belmont Park was the venue for black type racing in Perth on Saturday with the running of the listed Belmont Park Cup and the listed Farnley Stakes.

 

The first of the black type races was the listed Farnley Stakes run over 1400 metres and it was taken out by the NSW bred Irish Pride (Night Shift(USA)-Superior Bisc) from Modem (Bletchley Park(IRE)-Refurbish) with Miss Torpago (Is it True(USA)-Torpedo Punt) in third position.

 

The other black type event was the listed Belmont Park Cup run over 2100 metres. Czariffic (Czardas-Lady Aboard) scored from Win to Grin (Carry a Smile-On Point(NZ)) with Fore Stay(NZ)(Yachtie-Star World(NZ)) in third place.

 

 

In Brisbane

Doomben was the venue in Brisbane for an eight event card on Saturday. TBNSW members recorded a winner and 2 second placings on the day.

 

TBNSW members were in the winner’s circle in Race 4 Lipton Ice Tea QTIS 3YO Handicap when Bloodline scored. Bloodline (Dracula-Sketches) bred by Woodlands Stud was too good for Kas Nediym (Nediym(IRE)-Kerdisi) with Get Carter (Mister Kwila-Jamaica) in third place.

 

A second placing for TBNSW members in Race 5 the VB-Australian Surf Rowers League Handicap. Consular (Royal Academy(USA)-Miss Prospect) was successful from Stormy Joe (Hurricane Sky-Una Donna(NZ)) bred by Dr J D Woolridge with Warrior Trader (Fuji Kiseki(JPN)-Shared Destinies(USA)) in third position.

 

TBNSW members recorded a second placing in Race 6 the ASRL.COM.AU Handicap. Up the Bid (Unbid Slam-Special Angie) won from Didneda (Grand Lodge(USA)-Yulenda) bred by Woodlands Stud with Mixadad (Shedad-Imposing Mix) third.
