Shane Dye is in fifth position with 51 wins, 42 seconds, 29 thirds, 35 fourths and 44 fifths from 519 rides. Brett Prebble is in eighth position with 36 wins, 32 seconds, 46 thirds, 32 fourths and 44 fifths from 456 rides. Craig Williams is in ninth position with 34 wins, 31 seconds, 38 thirds, 36 fourths and 25 fifths from 358 rides.

 

Tony Cruz has increased his lead yet again in the Trainer’s Ranking and now has a 38 win advantage. Tony Cruz has recorded 88 wins, 60 seconds, 45 thirds, 23 fourths and 40 fifths from 447 runners. Cape of Good Hope Salutes for Hong Kong in United Kingdom

Cape of Good Hope (GB) the globetrotting sprinter from Hong Kong has become a two time record maker after scoring in the Group 1 Golden Jubilee Stakes on the final day of the Royal Ascot meeting at York. Cape of Good Hope (GB) (Inchinor-Cape Merino) became the first Hong Kong trained horse to win a Group 1 event in the United Kingdom and in doing so he set a new course record on firm ground. Readers will recall that Cape of Good Hope scored in the Group 1 Australia Stakes as well as finishing third in the Group 1 Lightning Stakes when he visited Australia earlier in the year.

Gallant Silent Witness narrowly beaten in Group 1 Yasuda Kinen

It was oh so close! Silent Witness (AUS) was narrowly beaten into third place in the Group 1 Yasuda Kinen in Japan on 5 June 2005, the second leg of the Asian Mile Challenge series. Asakusa Den’En (GB) scored by a neck from Sweep Tosho (JPN) with Silent Witness (AUS) a head away third. In the first leg of the series, the Group 1 Champions Mile run at Sha Tin on 14 May 2005, in his first attempt over the distance, Silent Witness (AUS) went down by a nose to his stablemate Bullish Luck, currently the top rated mile runner in Hong Kong. Prior to his two runs over the mile distance, Silent Witness (AUS) who was bred by TBNSW member Mr I K Smith of Edinburgh Park Stud had recorded seventeen wins from seventeen starts eclipsing the record of Ribot in Europe and Cigar and Citation in North America for most consecutive wins.
