WEEKEND RACING 5&6/04/2008

Black type racing was conducted in New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia, Queensland and Victoria this weekend.

Canterbury Park was the venue for black type racing in New South Wales on Saturday with the running of the Group 1 Ranvet Stakes, the Group 1 Queen of the Turf Stakes, the Group 2 Canterbury Stakes, the Group 2 Todman Stakes, the Group 2 Riesling Slipper Trial (Perfect Vision Laser Correction Stakes), the Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes, the Group 3 Nivea Visage Stakes and the Listed Sky High Stakes. Cheltenham Park was the venue in South Australia for the running of the Group 3 Queen’s Cup and the Listed H C Nitschke Stakes. Eagle Farm was the venue in Queensland for the running of the Listed Bright Shadow Quality. Caulfield was the venue in Victoria for the running of the Listed Anniversary Vase.

On Sunday, Ascot was the venue in Western Australia for the running of the Group 1 WATC Derby, the Group 2 Karrakatta Plate, the Group 3 Hyperion Stakes and the Group 3 Strickland Stakes. Kembla Grange was the venue in New South Wales for the running of the Listed Keith F Nolan Classic.

TBNSW members were successful in the Group 1 Ranvet Stakes, the Group 1 Queen of the Turf Stakes and the Listed Keith F Nolan Classic.

In Sydney

Canterbury Park was the venue for black type racing in New South Wales on Saturday with the running of the Group 1 Ranvet Stakes, the Group 1 Queen of the Turf Stakes, the Group 2 Canterbury Stakes, the Group 2 Todman Stakes, the Group 2 Riesling Slipper Trial (Perfect Vision Laser Correction Stakes), the Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes, the Group 3 Nivea Visage Stakes and the Listed Sky High Stakes the highlights on a nine event program. TBNSW members recorded 2 winners (both Group One wins), 5 second placings and 4 third placings on the day.
