The Cancer Council’s mission is to detect cancer, and scientific research is one of the group’s main roles. This month, TBNSW member Judy Hudson has donated herself to science, all in the aid of fundraising, by participating in a head shave.
Quality research will cost the Cancer Council in excess of $13 million this year alone. Advancements in the field are needed to improve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer on a daily basis. None of this can happen without the necessary funding and the generosity of the community as a whole.
The head shave is a widely know fund raising event for the Cancer Council. Many of us are a little shy to embark on this venture ourselves, but we can still support the cause by sponsoring others who are brave enough to take the plunge.
Judy, from Lustre Lodge, is jumping in head first and losing her hair for science. There is just over a week left to pledge your support and assist in reaching the target of $5,000.
