WEEKEND RACING 16 & 17/02/08

Black type racing was conducted in Victoria, New South Wales, Western Australia, South Australia and Tasmania this weekend.

Moonee Valley was the venue for black type racing in Victoria on Saturday with the running of the Group 1 Australia Stakes, the Group 2 Sunline Stakes, the Group 2 Alister Clark Stakes, the Group 2 Moonee Valley Fillies Classic (Hollylodge Thoroughbreds Classic) and the Listed Nissan Stakes. Royal Randwick was the venue in New South Wales for the running of the Listed Canonbury Stakes and the Listed Widden Stakes. Ascot was the venue in Western Australia for the running of the Group 3 WA Champion Fillies Stakes and the Listed T J Smith Trophy. Cheltenham was the venue in South Australia for the running of the Listed Port Adelaide Cup.

On Sunday black type racing was held in Victoria and Tasmania. Kilmore was the venue in Victoria for the running of the Listed Kilmore Cup. Launceston was the venue in Tasmania for the running of the Listed Gold Sovereign Stakes.

TBNSW members were successful in the Group 2 Moonee Valley Fillies Classic (Hollylodge Thoroughbreds Classic) and the Listed Canonbury Stakes

In Melbourne

Moonee Valley was the venue for black type racing in Melbourne on Saturday with the running of the Group 1 Australia Stakes, the Group 2 Sunline Stakes, the Group 2 Alister Clark Stakes, the Group 2 Moonee Valley Fillies Classic (Hollylodge Thoroughbreds Classic) and the Listed Nissan Stakes the highlights on a nine event card. TBNSW members recorded 2 winners (including a Group 2), 2 second placings and 2 third placings on the day.
