The spotlight was on NSW last Thursday, with the 2025/26 Australian Racehorse Of The Year Awards being held in conjunction with the NSW Racehorse Owners Association Awards at an electric ceremony at Randwick.
NSW-bred horses were front and centre across all categories, with Arrowfield Stud’s Autumn Glow (The Autumn Sun) given top honours as NSW Champion Horse. Guest House (Home Affairs) was named NSW Champion 2-Year-Old, and Joliestar (Zoustar) crowned NSW Champion Sprinter. By Arrowfield Stud’s Castelvecchio, Aeliana (NZ) was crowned NSW Champion Stayer. The Torryburn Stud-bred Idle Flyer claimed the NSW Queen of the Autumn title.

On the national stage, NSW horses also featured. With her stellar season, Autumn Glow was crowned Australian Horse Of The Year and Champion Middle Distance Horse. She was sold by Newhaven Park Stud for $600,000 as a weanling before making $1.8 million at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.
Autumn Boy (The Autumn Sun) took Champion 3-Year-Old Colt/Gelding ahead of Tentyris, and Snitzel was named Champion Sire.
