Credit and Collections Officer

Inglis, Australasia’s premier Thoroughbred auction house, with offices in Sydney and Melbourne, has opportunities for Credit and Collections Officers to join our Finance Department. You will have the ability to work effectively and efficiently within an existing Finance team as well as within a broader area. This is an office based, full time role reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. The role is based at our Riverside Stables complex at Warwick Farm, NSW and will require the successful candidate to undertake some interstate travel and occasional work which may be outside of usual business hours. Primary responsibilities
Accounts Receivable Management of Live Sales:
• Assessment of client trade credit applications for all live auction sales & liaise with sale day customers, including credit approval;
• Continuous monitoring of buying bench for duration of live sales; follow up clients operating outside of agreed terms or unknown to the company;
• Post-sale client collections, ensuring payments received within agreed terms;
• Issue monthly client statements for all sales/accounts; Collection of all debt arising from the provision of trade credit in respect of live auctions &
private sales; Maximise collections and minimise write offs;
• Initiate & negotiate payment plans for problem accounts, inc. non-adherence to agreed terms & conditions;
• Maintain complete & accurate written records of client communication & all accounts receivable activities;
• Establish and maintain relationships with key clients;
• Keep up to date with changes in debt collection laws, regulations and best practice.

Live Sales Online Bidding & Digital Platform:
• Manage online service inc. assessment of credit via the online system;
• Assist in credit assessment of Inglis Digital clients on a needs basis;
• Attend to accounts & client finance enquiries, accepting/processing payments over the phone, cross sell insurance & recommend Inglis Digital products;
• Assist with general office duties such as accounts payable, bank reconciliations, system integrity checks, general client queries etc.
Essential attributes
A high level of financial literacy with an ability to analyse data & financial information to ascertain & monitor credit worthiness of clients is essential.

Advantageous/Preferred attributes
A minimum of five years plus in banking/finance/accounts receivable;
Bloodstock industry experience;
Tertiary qualifications in Finance/Business/Commerce (or similar).
