Lightly raced speed sensation and expectant first time mother Marabi is a star addition to the upcoming Magic Millions Virtual Sale on August 27.
An untapped galloper with electrifying acceleration, Marabi blazed her way from a debut six length maiden win to Group One sprint success in just seven unbeaten runs.

A daughter of champion sire I Am Invincible, Marabi raced just 10 times for seven wins and earned prizemoney of almost $1 million, defeating Group One winners Bella Nipotina, Wild Ruler, Zoutori and Jonker, just to name a few.
Retired from the track last year the mare will be offered for sale next week in foal to renowned sire Zoustar – and is due to foal early next month.
As a racehorse Marabi was held in the highest of regard by her co-trainer Ciaron Maher as well as her proud owner and breeder, Greg Perry.
“She did a wonderful job, she won her first seven starts and a Group One,” Perry told reporters on her retirement.
“She was exceptional, I know I’m biased, but she wasn’t just lightning quick, she could maintain it. She announced herself to the industry as top class the day she won by 7 lengths at Ballarat running away from them, and she confirmed that ability in the Oakleigh Plate where she sat up on the speed running 9.93s from the 1000-800m and 10.66s from the 800-600m. She was jogging doing those early splits and she still managed to put a space on a top class field into the straight to win comfortably.”
“I’ve been lucky enough to have raced some good ones but nothing as gifted with natural, sustained speed like she had.” Perry added.
“Marabi, goodness what a wonderful mare,” Maher said of his former stable star. “She possessed incredible ability and had an amazing turn of foot.”
As well as being a Group One winner, Marabi possesses a stunning pedigree. She is a half sister to Group One Victoria Oaks winner Aristia and is from the Group Two Sunline Stakes winner, Nakaaya. Earlier this year Aristia’s first foal sold for $725,000.
Marabi is being consigned by Vinery Stud as agent for Greenwich Stud and is available for inspection now.
Adam White gushed, “You can see why Marabi was such a fast mare. She has great strength through the shoulder and hind quarter. Lovely short cannon bones and is correct in front. She has a lovely quality head on her with ample quality all over.” White added, “The mating to Zoustar is perfect for her and she should have a lovely first foal.”
Marabi’s addition to the upcoming Magic Millions Virtual Sale on August 27 adds further star power to what is a select and quality packed line up.
“To be able to offer Marabi as part of the catalogue for the Virtual Sale next Tuesday is a privilege,” Magic Millions Managing Director Barry Bowditch said. “She showed from her first start she was a very special racehorse.”
“She strung together seven outstanding wins in succession culminating in a brilliant victory in the Group One Oakleigh Plate.”
“Marabi is bred by an extraordinary breeder in Greg Perry – in addition to Marabi, he’s responsible for Group One winners Artorius, Atlantic Jewel and Commanding Jewel,” Bowditch added. “Marabi must rank as one of the finest young pregnant mares being offered anywhere in the world in 2024.”
A further select line up of entries for the sale will be finalised in the coming days and be available for viewing online soon.
Final entries for the Magic Millions August Virtual Sale will close tomorrow, Wednesday, August 21 and the auction will be held from 2pm (AEST) next Tuesday, August 27 from the Gold Coast Sales Complex.
