TBNSW Awards Raceday Wrap

TBNSW celebrated the Annual Awards at Randwick on Saturday 25th October, incorporating a fundraiser for National Thoroughbred Week. It was a great turnout on a magnificent day of racing for Moet & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes Day. The Award winners are: 

  • Champion Broodmare Award – Arrowfield Stud & Planette Thoroughbreds for Lady Shenandoah. Award proudly sponsored by Baumgartners and presented by Paul Carrazzo to Jon Freyer of Arrowfield Stud. 
  • Champion Broodmare Sire Award – Fastnet Rock of Coolmore Australia. Award sponsored by IRT and presented by Conor Phelan to Tom Moore of Coolmore Australia.
  • Champion First Season Sire Award – Ole Kirk of Vinery Stud. Award sponsored by Horsepower Feeds and Supplements and presented by Stephen Lamb to Adam White of Vinery Stud.
  • Champion 2YO Sire Award – Snitzel of Arrowfield Stud. Award sponsored by Australian Turf Club and presented by Caroline Searcy to Jon Freyer of Arrowfield Stud.
  • Champion Sire Award – Zoustar of Widden Stud. Award presented by Stu Doughty of Howden Equine Australia to Matt Comerford of Widden Stud.
  • President’s Award – Small Breeder of the Year was awarded to Mr. Ian Johnson and Dr. Anthony Johnson for Briasa.

The Fundraising Auction raised close to $7000 for National Thoroughbred Week due to the generous prize donations from Silverdale Farm, Vinery Stud, Coolmore Stud, Magic Millions, Inglis, and Gooree Park Mudgee.
