The hammer falling on the last lot of the Inglis Easter Sale signified the conclusion of a busy few months of the 2026 sale calendar.
Earlier in March, the Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale saw 425 lots offered. NSW’s Willow Park Stud were second leading vendor by gross ($780,000 for 15 sold), with Barramul Stud and Glenn Lee Thoroughbreds also finishing in the Top 5 vendors. Caithness Breeding, Bowness Stud and Forge Thoroughbreds were in the Top 10.
The top lot of the Sale came from a quality draft from The Chase – a Zoustar (AUS) / Tapitlikeitshot (USA) filly (Lot 67) sold for $200,000 to Philippines based buyer Miguel Almeda. The Sale’s top selling colt was Lot 175 – a $180,000 The Autumn Sun x Cavaloce colt from Glenn Lee Thoroughbreds, who was as agent for Arrowfield Stud.
We are pleased that the vendors were very motivated to meet the market and it’s been a solid two sale days,” said Magic Millions Managing Director Barry Bowditch.

Inglis Easter Sale showcased a different side of the market, with a total of $145,880,000 from 315 sold lots (76%). 258 lots were sold by NSW vendors for gross sales of $122,965,000.
While top sire honours went to Arrowfield’s Snitzel ($19.2m from 32 sold), Extreme Choice was the talk of the town. The Sale topper title went to the $3million Extreme Colt x Pretty Brazen colt (Lot 26) from the draft of Lime Country Thoroughbreds. The Newgate Farm stallion also had another four lots in the Top 10 lots.
The Sale was full of success stories for both vendors and buyers. While New Zealand’s Dean Hawthorne ended as the leading buyer with 15 lots to his name, either outright or with partners, the remaining Top 5 buyers all represented NSW.
We return to Riverside on 19 April for the HTBA Yearling Sale, before the Australian Weanling and Chairman’s Sales on 5-7 May.
