A position has become available for a full- time farm hand to join the Cressfield farming team. Set on 2200 hectares, 10 mins north of Scone, Cressfield is a Thoroughbred breeding enterprise incorporating lucerne hay and beef cattle enterprises managed under regenerative agriculture principles. Reporting to the Farming manager the role will include: • Irrigation and stock water system operation and maintenance • Farm Machinery operation and maintenance • Lucerne hay and silage making across 50 hectares • Fencing and general farm maintenance • Cattle husbandry for 250 Angus breeders The successful applicant will have a passion for agriculture, a willingness to learn and show attention to detail. Being able to work individually as well as part of a small established team is crucial. Some farming experience is preferred but not essential as training will be provided. Widden Stud Australia located in the Hunter Valley, NSW and also in Riddells Creek, Victoria currently accepting applicants full-time for the role of Horse Trainer/Breeding and Horse Trainer/Yearlings. The roles are full time, and the successful applicant will work with either stallions, broodmares, foals, young stock and/or yearlings. We are looking for a motivated, determined & experienced individual who has professional horse stud experience. The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of industry best practice, with either international experience or a thorough understanding of the global trends of the thoroughbred industry. The salary will be above award – in the range of $75,000 to $85,000 per annum depending upon the skill set and level of responsibility. Accommodation maybe offered on the farm. o Training broodmares and young stock
o Overseeing daily care and supervision of horses
o Early education of young stock
o Foaling, including pre- and post-natal care of broodmares and foals
o Assisting Veterinarians with ultrasound/reproduction examination including assisting in birthing foals and administering medical treatment to foals
o Monitoring mare ovulation and pregnancy
o Taking a leadership role and supervision of junior staff
Yearling Duties will include:
o Training and preparing horses for major sales
o Educating horses to be groomed and accept bridle, head collar, rug etc.
o Teaching horses to walk, stand and parade correctly
o Parade and caring for horses at sales
o Overseeing daily care and supervision of horses
o Re-educating horses to resolve problems such as biting and kicking All applicants must have a minimum of 3-years full time professional experience in the role or a relevant qualification and at least 2 years full time professional experience in the role.
In addition, the following will be required:
· Knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbred breeding
· Proven ability to train and educate young horses
· Proven as reliable workers, with excellent horsemanship skills
· Knowledge of safe operation of all equipment and use of personal protective equipment show more

Cressfield is seeking an experienced horse person, preferably with Stud experience, for the 2026 Breeding season. There is the potential for the position to continue into the Yearling sales prep season. Responsibilities and daily tasks will include;
* Recognising the signs of, and assisting with foaling
* Handling foals
* Assisting with restraining mares and foals for routine reproductive vet work
* Providing medications, Oral, IM and IV.
* Feeding, mucking out and general husbandry
* Assisting routine farrier work with mares and foals
* Keeping accurate records
The applicant will need to be a confident horse person, be fluent in English, punctual, reliable and be able to exhibit a quiet compassionate nature for the horses in their care.
Preference will be given to someone with prior stud experience.
Wages are above award and will reflect the applicants experience. show more
