We are a 'family run farm' and pride ourselves in each team member feeling like they are part of the big picture. The ideal candidate would have yearling prep experience and be able to commit from late October until after the Easter sale. While we would prefer someone with yearling experience, you will be working along some great people who can help your knowledge and experience grow. We run with smaller drafts which allows you to really put your mark on the yearlings in prep. - Feed runs
- Checking of stock in the paddocks
- Assisting with workout routine of yearlings in prep
- Assisting vet and farrier
- General turnout and grooming of horses in prep
- Presenting horses for viewing

Position is full-time and available in Scone NSW. This is a full-time position, and the suitable applicant will need to commit to a minimum of two-years employment. Duties will include:
o Training broodmares and young stock
o Monitoring and handling of mares imminently in foal

o Monitoring mare ovulation and pregnancy
o Early education of foals and young stock
o Educating and preparing weanlings and yearlings for sale
o Overseeing daily care and supervision of horses and staff supervision where required
o Assisting Veterinarians with ultrasound/reproduction examination including assisting in birthing foals and administering medical treatment to foals
Essential Criteria
• A Certificate III or equivalent international qualification, or in the absence of a qualification a minimum of three years’ professional full-time experience educating and training horses
• A minimum of two years’ equivalent full-time experience handling and working with and educating thoroughbred horses
• Knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbreds, including stallions, sales or breeding
• Proven ability to train and educate young horses
• Oral and written communication skills of a level to take instruction; provide information and advice to others and prepare basic reports
• Knowledge of safe operation of all equipment and use of personal protective equipment
• Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to the training and preparation of racehorses
