The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of stallion care and breeding barn duties, including:
Leading, handling and caring for stallions during daily routines and breeding procedures
Assisting with semen collection and processing
Feeding, grooming and general horse husbandry
Monitoring stallion health and behaviour and reporting concerns
Assisting with veterinary and farrier work
Cleaning and maintaining stalls, yards and breeding facilities
Presenting and parading stallions for clients and visitors
Assisting with teasing and general stud duties as required About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has previous experience handling stallions and assisting with semen collection procedures, including preparation and handling of the AV during collection
Is calm, confident and safety-focused around horses
Works well within a team and communicates clearly
Is reliable, punctual and takes pride in their work
Has a strong work ethic and genuine care for horse welfare
Is physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Can remain composed and observant in a busy breeding season environment
Additional skills such as driving a manual ute, operating farm bikes or assisting with general farm maintenance will be viewed favourably.
