The 2026 breeding season brings an exciting mix of new arrivals and established performers to New South Wales, with several high-profile stallions joining new farms or relocating to the Hunter Valley. From elite international bloodlines to proven Australian Group 1 winners, breeders have a wealth of new options to consider this season.
ARROWFIELD STUD – Lead Artist
Arrowfield welcomes Group 1 winner Lead Artist, a son of the outstanding Dubawi out of the Frankel mare Obligate. Bred by Juddmonte, he raced exclusively in stakes company after breaking his maiden by almost five lengths before adding victories in the G3 Thoroughbred Stakes, G3 Darley Stakes and G1 Lockinge Stakes to his résumé.
A beautifully bred addition to the Arrowfield roster, Lead Artist combines one of the world’s premier sire lines with the influential Juddmonte family descending from the legendary Hasili. He will stand his first Australian season at a fee of $27,500 inc GST.
COOLMORE – Delacroix (IRE)
Dual Group 1 winner Delacroix joins Coolmore as one of the best-credentialled sons of champion sire Dubawi to shuttle to Australia. Out of six-time Group 1-winning mare Tepin, he won from 1400 metres to 2000 metres and combined elite race performance with an exceptional international pedigree.
Free of Danehill and Green Desert blood, Delacroix provides breeders with an outstanding outcross option. He will stand his first Australian season for $38,500 inc GST.
COOLMORE – Super Seth
Already firmly established as one of Australasia’s leading young sires, Super Seth makes the move from New Zealand’s Waikato Stud to Coolmore for his first Australian season. The Group 1-winning son of Dundeel has enjoyed a remarkable start at stud, producing multiple Australian Group 1 winners from his first crop.
Demand for his progeny continues to grow, with yearlings selling for up to $950,000 in Australia this year. Super Seth will stand at Coolmore for $137,500 inc GST.
DARLEY KELVINSIDE – Tentyris
Tentyris joins Darley Kelvinside after an outstanding racing career that included victories in the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes and G1 Lightning Stakes, becoming just the fourth three-year-old colt in 25 years to claim the Lightning. As a juvenile, he also won the G2 Todman Stakes and finished runner-up in the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes.
By Street Boss and out of an Exceed And Excel mare from the family of four-time Group 1 winner Divine Madonna, Tentyris offers breeders elite Australian speed and a proven pedigree. He will stand his first season at Kelvinside for $88,000 inc GST.
EVERGREEN STUD – Reserve Bank
Group 1 Goodwood Handicap winner Reserve Bank joins the NSW stallion ranks as the first commercial sire to stand at Evergreen Stud. By Capitalist, he won six races highlighted by a brilliant three-stakes-winning sequence that culminated in his G1 success, becoming the only three-year-old colt to win the Goodwood in the past two decades.
A $410,000 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale graduate, Reserve Bank combines elite Australian speed with the proven Written Tycoon sire line through his sire, Capitalist. He will stand his debut season at Evergreen Stud for $16,500 inc GST.
NEWGATE FARM – Wodeton
The highest rated two-year-old of his generation, Wodeton joins Newgate for his inaugural stud season. A $1.6 million yearling purchase made him the highest-priced colt from the first Australian crop of Champion Sire Wootton Bassett.
He impressed with a debut win at Rosehill by 3.9 lengths, rocketing to outright Golden Slipper favouritism. In the Group 1 Golden Slipper itself, he produced an extraordinary turn of foot from 13th on the turn to be the first colt home, beaten just 0.1 lengths. He remained competitive at the highest level throughout his two-year-old season, and will stand for $16,500 inc GST.
NEWHAVEN PARK – Cool Archie
Cool Archie announced himself as an elite talent, winning five starts in a row as a two-year-old, culminating in his dominant victory in the G1 JJ Atkins. His exceptional combination of speed, precocity and class saw him crowned Champion 2YO Colt of his crop.
Cool Archie was a precocious, early and tough individual. Winning four stakes races, he defeated some of the best of his generation, including Grafterburners, Torque To Be Sure & Beskar. He stands at Newhaven for $16,500 inc GST.
VINERY STUD – Tropicus
Group 1 Oakleigh Plate winner Tropicus joins the Vinery roster following the integration of Kia Ora Stud’s stallion operation. By Too Darn Hot from the Exceed And Excel mare Extensible, he offers breeders one of the most exciting young sprinting pedigrees available this season.
Bred and raced by Kia Ora, Tropicus is among the first Australian Group 1-winning sons of Too Darn Hot to retire to stud. He will stand his debut season at Vinery for $27,500 inc GST.
YULONG SEGENHOE – Alabama Express
Already an established sire with an impressive record, Alabama Express relocates from Victoria to Yulong Segenhoe in the Hunter Valley. The Group 1-winning son of Redoute’s Choice continues to strengthen his reputation through performers headed by outstanding mare Treasurethe Moment and a growing list of stakes winners.
His move north gives New South Wales breeders access to a proven young sire whose progeny continue to perform both on the racetrack and in the sale ring. Alabama Express will stand for $66,000 inc GST.
YULONG SEGENHOE – Devil Night
By sought-after sire Extreme Choice, Devil Night earned his place at stud with victory in the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes at just his second start. He trained on at three with multiple Group placings, demonstrating his quality against older horses at the highest level.
A $1.4 million Magic Millions yearling, Devil Night combines exceptional commercial appeal with one of Australia’s most influential sire lines. He will stand his debut season at Yulong Segenhoe for $33,000 inc GST.
YULONG SEGENHOE – Lucky Vega
Group 1 Phoenix Stakes winner and Yulong shuttle sire Lucky Vega heads to the Hunter Valley for the first time in 2026. The powerful and attractive son of Lope De Vega (IRE) is out of a Cape Cross (IRE) mare, combining the bloodlines of two of the best Southern Hemisphere shuttle stallions.
In 2026, Lucky Vega’s yearlings averaged over seven times their conception fee across the major Australian yearling sales, while he has had 15 individual winners in July alone. He stands for $27,500 inc GST.
