The fastest, highest-rated and most precocious two-year-old by the outstanding So You Think, Peltzer was trained in Sydney by Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou. He went through his two-year-old season unbeaten in three starts, blitzing his rivals in the G2 Stan Fox, the $1m Bondi and the G3 Eskimo Prince.
Now he’s making his mark as a stallion at Twin Hill Studs. Peltzer is one of only two sons of his sire standing in NSW, and he’s already sired two stakes-winners from his first crop. Buccleuch claimed the Listed Taj Rossi Series Final, becoming his sire’s first stakes winner, while Thanks Gorgeous won the Listed VRC Sprint Classic. What makes it more impressive is that Peltzer serves a modest book, yet is holding his own against stallions who cover far bigger numbers. With his oldest progeny just three-year-olds, his results are starting to turn heads.
His pedigree tells an interesting story. By So You Think and out of the dam Miss Otto (Elusive Quality), Peltzer descends from the Aga Khan family of French Champion Shawanda, and carries the same High Chaparral line as fellow G1-producing sires Dundeel, Toronado and Contributor.
It’s a package that impresses in the flesh too. “Peltzer is a glorious-looking horse. He has quality, strength and scope,” says Twin Hills Stud’s Olly Tait.
Residing at Twin Hills Stud alongside Daumier and Smart Missile, Peltzer stands for $11,000 in 2026.
